Change "Export For Screens" Save Path Default To File Folder
If I go to File > Export > Export For Screens the default save path points to the last folder I used. What we as users are expecting is the default path to be equal to the same folder as the Illustrator file is currently located in.
If you feel this should not be the default at least give us a way to change this in the AI Preferences. Thanks!

@Varun any way we can customise the default path? I always have a /exports folder alongside the illustrator file, it would be great if I could specify that exports folder (or any other folder), and have it remembered specifically for that file.
When I go to export again for that file, it remembers that exports location.
If I open a second file, it would remember the path for that second file.

Along with this, naming such as prefix and sufix should be able to retain as per individual file. I had 3 different files open, had to export them 1 by 1, but the sufix and prefix remain as per the file before. Looking forward to more flexibility in export.

I feel like this was updated and I was able to export to the current folder without having to change it every time. But now, since the new update, it's reverted back to having to update every time. What the heck happened? We shouldn't be going backwards.

I was hoping for this already for some years... you select all necessary settings for applestore application.. many artboards and many sizes and formats.. and there is no way to save all this...
Adobe PLEASE make those settings save together with each AI file.
Thank you -

Yeah, hard to change folder every time.
But if you are working with two or more projects with different export settings, you have to change all those too. Very Frustrating.
...and of course you forget to do that and then you have PDFs all over your folders, when you just wanted some png for mock-up. -

I work on lots of projects. They all use export for screens. The export location and exports settings vary by project. Remembering and resetting the location and settings for each project slows down my work flow and is a source of problems in the greater work flow that the exported art is just a piece of. For instance in one "greater" project there are multiple Illustrator files for Android icons, iOS icons, and multiple art files - each requires different settings and locations in Export for Screens.

I really but really don't understand why is so hard to implement it, such a huge pain ********** to always find the folder.

Please Please fix this!
It can't be hard thing to do

I work on multiple projects. Each has a different output location and different output settings. The way export for screens is set up I have to reconfigure every time I change projects. The location is particularly bad when I accidentally export to the wrong location files end up in the wrong work flow. The other settings also should be per project.

It can't be hard.I often work with two or more projects and it is a **** to set export path and few export formats every time I change the project.

I'm literally talking to support about this right now - I've been told it's a "feature" that isn't currently available!! It's not a feature at all, it should be how it works! Photoshop does it, surely it's common sense that the export files should point to the same folder as the source file UNLESS you choose to put them elsewhere?!?!? Crazy.

It absolutely should select the path of the AI file or the path that was last used for that specific file.
It does not make any sense to globally take the prefix and the path that was last used in illustrator.
Hey Adobe, most of us work on more than one file at the time. thanks for fixing this before I get retired in 30 years. -
