Infinite Canvas
I find myself using more and more Figma to brainstorm and create my designs as I have a single document containing all of my visual explorations.
For print assets I go back to Illustrator and create the final file, but I really wish I could have done it all in illustrator. So just removing the canvas limit.
Not artboards or number of something — just being able to spread and spread your ideas in the same place.

@RokeJulianLockhart, they seem similar, but the technical foundation differs.
There’s the canvas limit, and there’s an artboard size limit. Infinite canvas is more about placing infinite amount of artboards with finite sizes. Removing canvas limit is now a mess of different things: some users mean the canvas as well, but others need just larger artboards. Both threads (and more) are watched, all the comments get read. -

227 inches by 227 inches is one of the main reasons I stay away from illustrator. Other vector softwares do not have this limitation, please incorporate this into a future version please

There in an interesting counter-request, to have a smaller canvas:

Add option to Increase Canvas Bounds/Pasteboard Size like InDesign.
For example, in InDesign you can navigate to Preferences > Guides & Pasteboard and set the size of the pasteboard. This is particularly handy in Illustrator when resizing or requiring more space for more artboards.

The entire logic is flawed. There is the big space that's just there, then there is the limited canvas on top of it and then there is the limited number of artboards that for some reason need to fit into the canvas.
In this scenario canvas exists only to allow reusing some legacy code, its completely useless.
Please remove the canvas, there is no point in it, and allow infinite space.(Edited by admin) -

Since vector is infinitely scalable what's wrong with working at one half or one quarter scale of the finished piece?

It is limited to 16383px.
Use scaling—0.75×0.22m.
Vote here for making canvas bigger:
