New artboard default to spacing set in Rearrange artboard panel
It would be useful if when you create a new artboard that the spacing between it and the previous one reflects the spacing you have defined in the 're-arrange artboards' panel.
Currently it defaults to something around 7/8mm which is annoying when you have artwork that spills over, as moving the artboard drags the artwork with it. I know you can turn that feature off, but the spacing defaulting to what you've already defined would still be very useful.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.3.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

So annoying, especially when you move artwork with the artboard and they overlap a bit and you are trying to rearrange 20+ boards! Glad to have someone listen to peeps feedback.

I agree is is really annoying!
The best solution I've found, is not to use 'duplicate artboard'. Instead, just click on the artboard tool, and then option-drag cursor on your artboard to duplicate it - that way you can clone it but with a good distance away.
Then if I need to I go back and rearrange artboards with my desired spacing.

Yes this is really annoying when you have similar design and need few artboard....I wish to I could set the spacing between artboard.

One should be able to specify a default distance in the illustrator preferences dialog, and not have to deal with it after-the-fact... OR be able to drag an artboard without dragging an element where the majority of that element is on another artboard, at least

yes this is such a silly thing to not implement - Illustrator's UI and UX for artboard management is terrible.

I agree too.
Users can decide on artboards spacing only when creating a new document or rearranging artboards.
This is very inconvenient as I have to make settings each time adding new artboards.
I want to decide the default spacing myself.------------------------------

This would be such an improvement for managing artboards. Can I vote more than once? I have the same problem where the overlapping artwork ends up everywhere when I "rearrange artboards" after they have been created. It's a stumbling block every day.

I need a solution for this, predefined spacing( Rearrange artboards) does not take effect when creating new artboards.
