I have been having similar issues selecting with a mouse on a 5K monitor for the last several versions of Illustrator. I have to zoom way in to precisely select items. Can imagine the difficulties that drastically differing monitor resolution plays into the programming of these applications and look forward to a day when selecting isn't as cumbersome..

As per the comment, go to 'Preferences > User Interface > Share Button' and select 'Match Brightness' — it will no longer appear blue.
To achieve the same in Photoshop, try toggling 'Neutral Color Mode' in 'Preferences > Interface'.

Can't have Illustrator and Photoshop open at the same time because the cursor/mouse arrow flickers in Illustrator when Photoshop is also open. Annoying, distracting, and has been a problem for a long time. This is the 3rd computer I've had with the issue. A few other threads are open. Can't understand why there are not more votes for those bugs as I see long, long threads of conversations and multiple youtube videos offering the fix for this problem. Please, please, pretty please fix this! You would be my hero.

You can change an artboard’s orientation by clicking a corresponding album or portrait button in the Control panel. For some reason there is not one in Properties, so please add your votes if you want to have it there

If I could "like" Timmo's comment, I would. His suggestion is the best.

Export wrong size.ai 155 KB
71 votesThis issue is probably happening because the artboard dimensions are not appropriate for raster export (i.e. are in decimals).
If you make x and y values as the whole numbers in the transform panel (not in decimal), then the extra pixels will not be added to the exported image. That is the workaround, and it’s reported that it’s not always the case.
At the same time — Ai knows the size of artboards to be exported and yet it does not deliver the set sizes, which is not fair. The team is going to rethink the algorithm.

How does this not have more people voting for it? There are entire forum posts discussing this issue on the adobe support community website. https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/illustrator-cc-export-for-screens-1-pixel-off-in-size/td-p/10001913?page=1

Would be awesome if Illustrator handled linked images the same as InDesign – no performance issues there.
