Importing a PDF file saved from CAD shows a fault message
When opening a flowchart in Illustrator, a PDF file saved from a CAD, I get a fault message saying 'There are fonts in the document that are not installed on the computer'.
This is a new fault that came up last week, been using PDF files for a year and it have never been a problem until now.
Is there something i can do about it?

Overset text indicators do not show when Type on Path has overflow
Text Overflow / Overset (+) Indicators are not showing on newer illustrator versions on Text Paths (Point Text).
The text paths have stopped showing the indicator when clicking off of the Text on a path (point type) has text overflow.As a map design company this is a big issue for us, as our files have thousands of text paths. We used to be able to identify crucial overset text information using these markers however they have vanished for the most past. Some files do occasionally show them but most do not. Illustrator slow and laggy with text
When I'm trying to edit a text box, illustrator turns very slow and laggy. With a simple text box. When I try to change font size, or writting, it takes ages to assume it. And the document turns very slow.

Text object becomes corrupted and cannot apply gradient or appearance
Illustrator on Windows 11 sometimes turns normal point text into a broken area text object.
When this happens:
- “Convert to Point Type” does not appear
- The text behaves like a text box even though it was created as point text
- The Appearance panel cannot add a new fill (button is greyed out)
- Applying a gradient turns the text completely black
- Copy/paste keeps the corrupted state unless pasted as plain textThis issue forces me to recreate text manually and interrupts my workflow.

Tabs window not available in 30.1

Uniwidth/multiplexed fonts extends in Illustrator
A font of mine is uniwidth/duplexed (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniwidth_typeface) and keeps its width in InDesign and ABC Dinamo’s Font Gauntlet when changing the weight of the VAR.ttf.
In Illustrator however, the text ‘extends’ when adding weight. Visualized: The last letter on a line is standing further right than before. The other way around it also contracts when lowering the weight, obviously.
I went on and found the same behavior in other VAR fonts (right in InDesign, wrong in Illustrator), but also ones that don’t have the issue. My Illustrator version is up to date, and the bug was also in…

"Legacy text" warning when opening a file with Illustrator 2026, created in Illustrator 2026

- Illustrator 30.1
- Created large posters in Illustrator 30.1 including Japanese type. Was later asked to make A4 size versions of them. Reduced entire contents of individual A1 posters so they would fit on A4 pages, copied, pasted to a new multi-artboard file. Saved and closed. Opened the file next day, again using Illustrator 30.1, and was greeted with "This file contains text created in an older version of Illustrator. Problem with Eyedropper tool on text
Illustrator 30.0 on Mac Ventura 13.7.8
When I try to use the Eyedropper tool on a text, it only samples the object's top Appearance, not the text's at Character level.
In the sample video, the characters should become grey, with the text object having a white outline behind. But you can see it only picks up the white outline and not the character colour.
My Eyedropper tool is set to pick up everything (all boxes are ticked).

Text is not working
My textboxes are empty including those that use to have text in it. I can create or select and edit them but when I type something in, nothing appears. If I try to select a text layer thats connected to a group, it randomly changes to selecting the parent/group.

Mouse cursor highlight disappeared/not showing up?
That's it. It just disappeared. Reset computer - didn't fix it. I'm on Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2. I'm updated to the latest Windows 11 version, and the latest Adobe Illustrator CC version (v 29.8.1)

Font Weights Change Upon Opening Files
When opening a file I previously saved, all the font weights switched around. Things that were bold were now light and light font were bold. A few fonts were switched out to different fonts altogether, even though the same font was still in the document, so it wasn't like it was unavailable.
I deleted any duplicate of the fonts and only had fonts from Adobe Fonts used in my documents, but the problem didn't go away. When opening an older version of the file that had the correct fonts weights, it would automatically change once I saved it.

Preview Only Text rendered as moved compared to the original
The new Preview Only Text feature is bugged. Attached is a screen shot of a comparison of the original document and Illustrators Preview Only text. The copy actually moves quite a bit from it's original position. The text is area type and within a box if that is a clue. This should be a huge concern for anyone trusting the preview only text.

Fonts used previously won’t load and miss in the document
Many of the fonts aren't opening properly on the working files from the previous version of IIllustrator. It appears as I have no these fonts, but I sure had yesterday in 2024 version, so it's there :d

Area type vertical alignment and auto size doesn't work
I've been using Illustrator on my Intel Mac under Sequoia and last versions lets you choose center, bottom or justify alignment but it always acts as top and the auto size option is disabled.
2 votesPlease post a screen recording of this issue. In Illustrator 2024 Auto-resize is disabled when alignment is "Center", "Bottom" or "Justify", and Auto-resize works fine when alignment is set to "Top". I see the same behavior in Illustrator 2025 as well.

Paragraph copy converts to individual letters, or small small groups of letters
I have noticed this issue with some increasing frequency: where paragraphs of copy suddenly appear as individual letters or small groupings. These letters all appear on their own layer. I am unable to grab all the text, or modify an entire word. Thankfully, I save rounds of files, or work by copy and pasting , so I'm generally able to grab copy from an older version, but this is maddening to say the least.
