Problem with Eyedropper tool on text
Illustrator 30.0 on Mac Ventura 13.7.8
When I try to use the Eyedropper tool on a text, it only samples the object's top Appearance, not the text's at Character level.
In the sample video, the characters should become grey, with the text object having a white outline behind. But you can see it only picks up the white outline and not the character colour.
My Eyedropper tool is set to pick up everything (all boxes are ticked).

Text is not working
My textboxes are empty including those that use to have text in it. I can create or select and edit them but when I type something in, nothing appears. If I try to select a text layer thats connected to a group, it randomly changes to selecting the parent/group.

Mouse cursor highlight disappeared/not showing up?
That's it. It just disappeared. Reset computer - didn't fix it. I'm on Windows 11 Pro Version 24H2. I'm updated to the latest Windows 11 version, and the latest Adobe Illustrator CC version (v 29.8.1)

Font Weights Change Upon Opening Files
When opening a file I previously saved, all the font weights switched around. Things that were bold were now light and light font were bold. A few fonts were switched out to different fonts altogether, even though the same font was still in the document, so it wasn't like it was unavailable.
I deleted any duplicate of the fonts and only had fonts from Adobe Fonts used in my documents, but the problem didn't go away. When opening an older version of the file that had the correct fonts weights, it would automatically change once I saved it.

Sometimes when I open a file I have already worked on, fonts go missing even though I used them before closing the file.

2025 Paragraph styles broken opening files created in previous versions
Opening up previously formated files (2024) with Character/paragrah styles applied is useless in 2025!

The entire document fails due to the use of area text linked to different pages. Text is lost, the file freezes, won't save, or is stuck

Preview Only Text rendered as moved compared to the original
The new Preview Only Text feature is bugged. Attached is a screen shot of a comparison of the original document and Illustrators Preview Only text. The copy actually moves quite a bit from it's original position. The text is area type and within a box if that is a clue. This should be a huge concern for anyone trusting the preview only text.

Fonts used previously won’t load and miss in the document
Many of the fonts aren't opening properly on the working files from the previous version of IIllustrator. It appears as I have no these fonts, but I sure had yesterday in 2024 version, so it's there :d

Area type vertical alignment and auto size doesn't work
I've been using Illustrator on my Intel Mac under Sequoia and last versions lets you choose center, bottom or justify alignment but it always acts as top and the auto size option is disabled.
2 votesPlease post a screen recording of this issue. In Illustrator 2024 Auto-resize is disabled when alignment is "Center", "Bottom" or "Justify", and Auto-resize works fine when alignment is set to "Top". I see the same behavior in Illustrator 2025 as well.

Paragraph copy converts to individual letters, or small small groups of letters
I have noticed this issue with some increasing frequency: where paragraphs of copy suddenly appear as individual letters or small groupings. These letters all appear on their own layer. I am unable to grab all the text, or modify an entire word. Thankfully, I save rounds of files, or work by copy and pasting , so I'm generally able to grab copy from an older version, but this is maddening to say the least. Live text displaying incorrectly along with objects/outlined text
I am running an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) with Catalina 10.15.7 (19H2)
Adobe is version 25.1I have recently upgraded my imac and the type is displaying jagged, and filling in areas that shouldn't be when applying a small stroke (attaching images for reference). The issue occurs when I'm using GPU. When I swap to CPU, it actually displays perfectly, but moving around the artboard and zooming becomes super laggy and slow. Cannot select type baseline with text tool when snap to grid is active.
Is there an option I'm missing here with the newer versions of Illustrator? I have to key command the grid on and off constantly just to highlight small captions or type.

Icon font shows Tofu
I created a font with emoji. I installed it in the Application support/Adobe/Fonts folder as I do with all fonts I test. Emoji characters like duck show two Tofu characters, although in the glyphs panel it is displayed correctly, please see attached screenshot.
In all other applications, the character can be displayed.

Illustrator 24.1.3 Type tool and text refresh
I've been experiencing an error and annoying Type tool bug since the last update to AI 24.1.3. It happens when I type something and later I go back to edit it (for example adding extra text, fixing a type) and the change does not appear to occur until I switch to Outline view. Alternatively, if I option-drag the text path the duplicate path shows the correct text. This is an old error (at least in appearance) that was fixed several versions ago and now it's back.

Text shifts to the left when updating in new version 23.1.1
When updating the text (created in old version 22.1 ) on new version 23.1.1 the text shifts to the left. This is very annoying.
