paragraph copy converts to individual letters, or small small groups of letters
I have noticed this issue with some increasing frequency: where paragraphs of copy suddenly appear as individual letters or small groupings. These letters all appear on their own layer. I am unable to grab all the text, or modify an entire word. Thankfully, I save rounds of files, or work by copy and pasting , so I'm generally able to grab copy from an older version, but this is maddening to say the least. I work as a packaging designer and it's crucial that copy remain editable. I have attached an image of the copy selected and highlighted little pink circles where the breaks are occurring "Dismantled Paragraph" , as well as a file from a previous iteration that was copied and pasted from "Whole Paragraph" -which is whole and unaffected, as well as a screenshot of the individual layers. "layers of characters"
I'm not sure what's causing this. I'm on a Mac 2019 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, running Monterrey 12.6. I use MS Teams for file storage.

So working in tandem with an illustrator file with a coworker.
Also in a document for packaging as well.
He was copying over some text elements from one art board to another using power paste and it would turn into a mess like this as well.Mac mini (M1, 2020), 8gb ram, Monterey 12.4

Your text gets 'disassembled' in the same manner one can get with applying Flatten Transparency to it, twice — it gets broken in lines first, then into kerned pieces.
While the nature of this is more or less clear, it’s strange it is happening to you if you are not using Flatten Transparency. I have some guesses though.
1. Do you save your files in the .ai or .pdf format?
2. If it is an .ai, do you have the 'Create PDF Compatible File' option checked?
3. Does it happen while you are working or only when you load the file back?
4. Does this happen if you do the same, but not using MS Teams? -

I'm wondering if anyone else has this issue?
