Selecting anything with pencil closes window almost instantly
Any selection of tool or setting, really anything I try with Apple Pencil opens a window very briefly not allowing time to select anything. If I select by touch and hold, you have to release pressure then try to press selection before it closes. I reinstalled Illustrator but the same issue makes it totally unusable. Thank you

There is a similar recent issue, caused by Pencil hover (https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT211774) support conflict with iPad OS 17.1 and it affects only 12.9 inch (6th Generation) iPad Pro and 11-inch (4th Generation) iPad Pro.
Sometimes this can be resolved by going to Settings > Apple Pencil and turning off Show Effects.

Hover is definitely useful! It took Apple a while to finally make it possible... However, this specific problem seems to depend on Apple as well, so nothing is clear yet.As for the 'bug logger' — well, this is not a standard situation, thus the complex routine...

But I enjoy using show effects & have one of those models! You can fix the bug in an upcoming patch, right? This interrupted both mine and K Scott’s User Experience, and I am sure many others prefer a software that supports Apple Pencil show effects. I personally think having hover show effects reveal more information, (ex. a button description), is incredibly useful in helping new users discover how to utilize Adobe Illustrator to its fullest capabilities. It can be tedious to swap between tutorials or other help button options. Besides, I feel that the hover feature immerses the user by having reactive haptics & descriptions/actions that engage the senses and pull them into a workflow. Why not have a bug report feature that detects crashes and asks users to send logs for bug fixes or fix the known bug instead of hiding the solution to circumvent the crashing in a support forum and missing out on a growth opportunity that can lead to better user satisfaction and possibly increased revenue?
