Crucial fix needed!

Basically, I've noticed illustrator runs smoothly as long as we are using it by hand ,the moment we click it with Apple Pencil the application crashes.Fix it asap…Stuck with my work

After updating my ipad pro to the latest ipadOs 17.1 software, ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR keeps crashing and I keep losing the work I have done

I’m using iPad 2022 pro which supports Apple Pencil hover function. So when my Apple Pencil is moved above the align button and of course it triggers the hover effect, then ai app will just crash immediately and document won’t autosave.

On my 12.9" 512 GB iPad Pro, this Problem started after latest update to iPadOs 17.1.1. Problem continues after multiple reinstallations, reboots, etc...

After opening any document or creating a new one, Illustrator crashing immediately upon any action whatsoever.

Sometimes crash occurs in milliseconds after document opens without any action at all. Can I not upload the support files here? What. Kind of files are you actually allowed to upload?

Caused by the Apple Pencil preview tool not being supported, until they fix it you can turn off “show effects when using Pencil” in Apple Pencil settings. Hope they fix it soon because anyone trying the app out for the first time right now is going to abandon it!

For users, until they fix this you can turn off “show effects when using pencil” in the Apple Pencil settings, but its annoying because you lose your effects everywhere else too.

Please fix this it’s an easy thing to patch and it’s SUPER annoying and critical. You just need to make it support the whole apple pencil hover thing that the ipad pros have.

I’m having this issue as well. I have a iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (6th generation) 256GB Capacity with 212.58GB available. I got back to work yesterday and every time I open a file in Illustrator it closes as soon as I select a command with my pen. It seems to allow me to manipulate items in the art space, but if I select anything with the pen from any menu it closes. iPadOS 17.1.1 (21B91)

If I use the Pencil and hover over any button on the left or right main toolbar, the app crashes. So I need to make a mental note to use my finger whenever I want to tap anything there. However, once a tool drawer has been opened (e.g. the colour picker), the Pencil works just fine.
So, it must be crashing whenever some kind of .onHover() function gets called

Lindsay, does it happen when you use Apple Pencil only? What happens if you try to use finger touch only instead?

Doug, does it crash if you are trying to use Apple Pencil? What about fingers only?
What model of iPad do you have and which OS version is currently installed there?

For me, both Illustrator and Photoshop apps crash not long after initializing. Once I open a file and try to do something to it, both apps crash. I don’t use an Apple Pencil.

Illustrator for iPad crashes every single time I open the app within the last week. It occurs within 30 seconds of opening usually upon my first action (ie. opening layers, etc).

The App crashes after opening but only when I try to select using my Apple Pencil. Using my finger tips it worked fine. It only started this after the latest software update.

App closes every time I try to choose any tool from the tool bar and deletes any progress that wasn't saved. I can’t do anything because of that
