    A bug indeed, you can’t reverse it with the Pen click in the end point for some reason!
    What you can do though, as a workaround, is to run Object > Path > Reverse Path Direction command. Quite new. It should do the trick (checked).

    The tolerance for selection bug seems to be fixed in last version (22.1), which can be installed manually. Have you tried it?

    AI CC 2017 doesn't feel and apply the tolerance, set in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display!
    I've just checked this in CS6. While fresh instalment doesn't do as you show, after setting 8px everything is OK. But in CC — NO.

    Please check your snap settings (in View menu). It seems that you have either Snap to Grid or Snap to Pixel options enabled.
