An error occurred while saving the comment Varun, please specify your full OS specs and details about your GPU, including driver version.
As far as I know, the lighting preview depends on GPU and falls back if there is a conflict. this can also explain the lagging.
Did you have any of these problem in the previous build? -

The recently announced change pushed into Beta 28.6.578 refers to this similar request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35253820
The users can now use save custom presets within the Saved tab in the New Document dialog (modern one, not the legacy one). Please provide the dedicated feedback there.
As for the ability to change the existing predefined sizes for each document profile (Print, Web, etc,), like A1, A5, etc, — this is not yet available. Stay tuned and sorry for the misfire.

Customize page sizes and templates on Home screen
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35789275An error occurred while saving the comment Hello again, Hans.
'There is no clear way to do that’ means that Illustrator does not provide a clear way to include our own presets to this list.
To have something appear in Templates, you have to put in in the designated folder, something like %AppData%\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 26 Settings\en_US\x64\Templates'Why can't you just add common social media templates as well' — I can’t add anything, I am not an engineer, I am a mere user with the badge and some knowledge :)
The Saved tab is not meant for user-saved presets... yeah, it’s stupid, I know. It supposed to have downloaded and imported templates.
The help says: 'Quickly access templates that you've downloaded from Adobe Stock (Saved tab)’ — https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/create-documents.htmlSo it’s not the functionality that is missing, but the name is wrong and misleading.
An error occurred while saving the comment There is no clear way to do that, but you can save a prepared document as template and later quickly create a new one using File > New from Template.
Not the perfect solution, but does it solve the problem for you?AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Răzvan (and others), this small script can help you:
https://twitter.com/onthehead/status/1358592875827585027?s=20An error occurred while saving the comment Rob, you can save your own document profile that will have the size you want, swathes you want, grid you want and so on. Save in in your Ai profiles folder and pick it when creating a new file.

An error occurred while saving the comment I can edit document profiles, but I can't make presets for sizes I use and get rid of unwanted sizes in New document window.
Please add interface for doing it. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Chris, the team recently added more sizes available for Mobile document profile.
There are several Android phones. What size do you miss specifically?do you care about phones only, or do you want to be able to add your own sizes in these lists in general?
In this case, you probably want to upvote this large feature request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/20446633 -

An error occurred while saving the comment Taha, recent Beta builds have the dedicated Object > Ungroup All command, which is very similar to what Explode in 3DS Max does.
By default (if you are using default hotkey set) it is assigned to Cmd+Opt+G.
Please try it in Beta and see if it fits the idea you have in mind. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t reproduce.
Do you have 'Zoom with Mouse Wheel' option enabled in Preferences > General, or do you zoom with Opt/Alt-scroll instead?
Does it differ if you toggle Preview from GPU to CPU or completely disable it?
Does it differ if you disable 'Zoom to Selection' (an rather broken option) in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Vichot, how do you think to control the process?
What UI do you think this feature should get?
How do you intend to control columns, rows, gaps, overall width and height?
Some object would have to be resized, while some other can stay unchanged, — how do you plan to mark these? While there is no fully automated solution for this now, there are several supplementary free scripts you can use today to boost this workflow drastically:
1. Resize to Size script by Sergey Osokin, www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN3dAf6rac8
2. Distribute Stacked Objects script by John Wundes, https://github.com/johnwun/js4ai/blob/master/distributeStackedObjects.jsx
3. Fit / Fill Image scripts by Seiji Miyazawa, https://onthehead.com/ais/group008/ (these are very similar to what InDesign allows)
These would save you a ton of time. -

Is it this one? It does not set acceleration it just allows to change a number of steps. The transition is still linear. What we actually mean with this is more like the other image attached.

An error occurred while saving the comment Right, this was already reported...
This happens only if the dedicated tool is used and the text is clicked — instead of selecting, the tool treats Shift-click as an attempt to reposition a dimension, and it gets moved so that the dimension line is placed to a position of the click.
Indeed, if a Selection Tool is used instead, it gets selected fine — and that’s what should be used, since Dimension tool does not select anything, it modifies and creates ...but since other tools, like Rectangle or Ellipse don’t modify corresponding shapes, I bet users will still expect to be able to select with it anyway.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment It is the most recent build from CCD, correct?

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, can verify.
It’s both fair and misleading (and a bit broken). While a live dimension object is treated by Ai as a solid item (and parts of it can’t even be selected with Direct Selection, until it’s expanded), it’s still just a group of text and strokes, dynamically updated. So it’s not the style of the whole dimension is sampled and applied, but specific basic characteristics of the clicked component. So when you click the text, it samples its fill, and tries to apply it to strokes, making them vanish... and it’s even more worse, sometimes it samples white of the background, or even anti-aliased pixels just on the edge of these, sampling gray!
Sure it should just work as expected — grabbing the whole look of it and applying it to selected dimensions...

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, I like this one, the task behind it is known to me, and I had to do it manually a lot (thanks for the plugins that ease this).
It’d be more of an extension for the native Offset Path, both the filter and the effects, as I see it, once applied to a group.
@MarkR, some others report a huge boost with performance, so there should be a conflict of sorts with the setup you’re having...
Please give the full specs of your OS, hardware, GPU specifically and the driver version, so that the team can start investigating.
