An error occurred while saving the comment Justin, do you still have the problem like this? I yes — can you please share a small test file with some of these strange symbols to test it?

Please post a screen recording of this issue. In Illustrator 2024 Auto-resize is disabled when alignment is "Center", "Bottom" or "Justify", and Auto-resize works fine when alignment is set to "Top". I see the same behavior in Illustrator 2025 as well.
An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t confirm on Windows 10... all of these work for me here

An error occurred while saving the comment Well, it could be useful, voted.
Although I would rather prefer an option to hide clipped stuff at all and stop snapping to it: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/35504488-outside-of-clip-mask -

An error occurred while saving the comment Interesting... I wonder what would the best place for this option be... At one hand, it fits to Appearance, since it affect the way paths are filled... on the other hand, it’s something more like Fill Rules in Attributes...

An error occurred while saving the comment And if Cmd/Ctrl+Enter would launch editing of the top text object (with any tool picked), pressing Enter for any Type tool picked (which does nothing now, as a double-click on the Type tools’ icons) could launch the Multi-Edit mode (similar to what Sergey Osokin scripted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcyT0KmuepI)

An error occurred while saving the comment Greg, please try this free script from Sergey Osokin to be able to do that:
https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Artboard.md#batchrenamer
It allows to rename objects, layers, artboards, with search and replace options. Please comment back if it works for you.

An error occurred while saving the comment Please elaborate. What operations make Ai sluggish? Panning? Zooming? Moving or transforming? Saving? Specific operations? Does it happen with a blank document or only with some files? The team won’t be able investigate it without these.

Expected This to be fixed in the latest Beta Build 29.5.0.15
Please comment if it now works fine (or not)

An error occurred while saving the comment The team reviewed and tested this approach during the Beta phase while developing Enclosed Selection mode, requested here originally: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31863601
The method brought a lot of confusion to testers, and it got shelved. The current way to toggle the behavior is to hit E key once while dragging a marquee. Here is the full help article on this: helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/selecting-objects.html#modified-marquee-selection
The implementation left a lot of users frustrated and perhaps there is a chance for it to be reviewed.
It’s nice to have it as a separate request now, thanks. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Margaret, when I need to create symbols without converting objects to symbols instantly, I use Astute Graphics’ Object > Create Symbol Variants command with 'Delete Selected ...' unchecked.
But sure it should be a native choice.

I wonder if anybody still has the problem. When I test this on several machines (Windows 10/11), it works as expected, can input the field and search with it.
