An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment There is another way of doing this (kind of).
Create an rectangle or whatever, open Graphic Styles, apply the default black/white one to your shape, set the stroke weight you want, than Alt+drag this shape over the default style.
And every time you press D you’ll get this particular weight. -

Default stroke check box next to stroke weight
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/43647525An error occurred while saving the comment There is a way to do this.
Create an rectangle (or whatever), open Graphic Styles, apply the default black/white style to your shape, set the stroke weight you want, than Alt+drag this shape over the default style.
And every time you press D you’ll get this particular weight. This change will affect only the current document.
If you want this weight to be default for all new documents, you’ll have to locate and modify document presets Ai uses to base new documents on: Print.ai, Web.ai... Here is a comprehensive list by Monika Gause on where to find these: https://www.vektorgarten.de/illustrator-settings.html#12
Plus, you can setup your own document profile, with swatches and styles you need.

An error occurred while saving the comment Does it happen with all DWG files or only a specific one?
Does it happen with both the released and Beta version? Do you use 2025 or 2024 or earlier?
Can you share the file with the team, please? Send it to sharewithai@adobe.com, and put the link to this report so that they can track it — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/48991052 -

An error occurred while saving the comment I assume you have the object selected after applying Inflate?
Can you reproduce this problem in a fresh new file?
Can you share this test file here, if yes?
Please also provide your OS specs and full details on your GPU, including driver version, for the team to try to reproduce it at their side. -

It turns out some application added '.2' as a file type, and Ai had to comply with it when auto-completing file names in OS-managed dialog.
Follow the solution in the comments if you have a similar problem.
An error occurred while saving the comment Well, glad it worked.
So it’s some app saved .2 as a valid type, and Ai obeys the way OS handles auto-assignment of types in OS dialogs.
Marking this as 'weird' and 'resolved'.
Thanks for the report and don’t hesitate to add and upvote more!An error occurred while saving the comment Tommaso, can you make more experiments, to check if it’s the same issue as this one, please?
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/38124841An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, probably UV has a limit. You can try a file hosting then.
Can you check if the format dropdown list in Save As dialog has something unusual?Or perhaps Windows recognize .2 as a valid file format on its own, perhaps some app has it registered?
It can be checked.
Press Win+R to open Run dialog.
Type 'regedit' (no quotes), Enter.
Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT category and search for '.2'
If it exists, make a copy of the registry (Fil > Export) and delete the entry. Perhaps a restart would be required then.
But that’s what I’d do — don’t take it as an official recommendation. An error occurred while saving the comment Can’t reproduce it at all...
I try to save both PDFs, as you originally stated, and .ai files as well.
test.1.ai
test.2.ai
test.3.ai
...
These all get saved properly for me, the extensions are visible, nothing is truncated...
What if you manually add '.ai' or '.pdf' at the end of the file and try to open it — will it open/import/get viewed?
If it’s not too hard for you — can you please record this on video, just to make sure my steps are exactly the same? Something has to differ! An error occurred while saving the comment Tommaso, you are on Windows, correct? I believe you have 'Hide File Extensions' enabled in View menu in Explorer, am I right?
Does it change if you disable this option? How do you save these PDFs, which command and dialog?
Does it look the same if you save as .ai instead? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Alex, does it happen only with Beta version (since you reported this in Beta branch), or with the released version as well?

An error occurred while saving the comment Jan, this is a mess, yes.
These 'presets' can be saved only for new documents.
If you want to save a template, just save it using Save As / as a Copy and choose .ait format. Old, reliable, versatile.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jan, this section (mixed with document profiles, disguised as categories of sorts) houses yet another type of preset: not a document profile, not an .ait template, but a 'preset', the one we can save only from the modern version of File New dialog (and can’t at all form the legacy one).
This button next to document names allows you to do it.
The information on this and other presets is saved into a file as shoved into yet another cryptic folder.
...and I’m not sure it gets migrated properly, as everything else, because, well, Ai.This is how it’s done.
I upvote this though, because clearly this stupid thing should explain it right there. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I can’t reproduce it :/
Guides remain visible and become red for me when selected, with GPU or CPU, with Real-time drawing enabled and disabled.
Can anybody recheck it please, using latest versions? -

An error occurred while saving the comment All is fair... The current active color is None. None swatch is a special kind of swatch and can be only one in a document.
Ai could have realize a user wants to use the inactive unfocused fill color, since it’s the only one color the object has (in case it’s a simple appearance)... but at the same time it’s totally correct. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, agree on all, except maybe the last one — click at the path’s end every time and it will start at the beginning of it.

An error occurred while saving the comment @MarkR, some others report a huge boost with performance, so there should be a conflict of sorts with the setup you’re having...
Please give the full specs of your OS, hardware, GPU specifically and the driver version, so that the team can start investigating. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Varun, please specify your full OS specs and details about your GPU, including driver version.
As far as I know, the lighting preview depends on GPU and falls back if there is a conflict. this can also explain the lagging.
Did you have any of these problem in the previous build?
