I am happy to share that ‘Auto spell-check’ feature has been shipped in the latest version of Illustrator. Here is how to enable/disable it in the latest release : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2020.html#spellcheck

A couple of questions on this:
1. Would it be okay to have a separate spec creation service much like the upcoming Adobe XD service? On this service, anyone with a link, can select any objects, and view its dimensions (W/H), colors, fonts etc. Or should it be inside Illustrator.
2. Are you only going to create horizontal, and vertical dimensions? Or would you also like to have angular dimensions as well?
Please share more details about your workflow.
Thanks,

I'd like to see the font size of the rulers have the option of a sliding scale. The numbers are super tiny. While zooming in is great to be able to be more precise, it doesn't do any good when you still can't actually read the ruler because the font is too small to see. Also, when zooming in, it would be nice if 1/8" and 1/16" marks would become apparent on the ruler the further in you zoomed
