Has this issue been resolved or is there a viable workaround? I am experiencing the same thing running Illustrator CC (30.3 64 bit) on a Windows 11 Pro (26200.8037).

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

The dimension tool is a great time saver and have been using it for the last few weeks with no issues, until today. Maybe I haven't noticed it before because I never used this feature.
When taking the diameter measurement, it seems to offset and enlarge the diameter for some reason and couldn't figure out why, even with numerous attempts.I am becoming more convinced that this might be a bug.
See the attached image that showcases the issue I am facing.

Finally got the chance to download the beta version to test the tool. That was a great start for the long awaited tool. Big thanks to the Adobe team.
I think there should be some ability to restrict the number of decimals (for the ones that use it, i.e. px, mm, cm), as well as the ability to output fractions (in the case of inches).
Looking forward to test test any additional tweaks and feature expansions. An error occurred while saving the comment

Not sure if anybody uses it, but it seems to me that CADtools by Hotdoor is the holy grail of dimension and measuring tools. It would be nice to have Illustrator use some of that functionality, especially when it comes to:
- Measuring by points or segments
- Measuring angles
- Measuring curvature radius
- Measurement would follow the angle of the segment being measured
- Configuring unit type, decimals/fractions, precision, dual/multi-dimensions and scale
- Live dimensions (updates when the artwork is resized), with the possibility to turn it on/off
- Formatting arrow types, line thickness/color and font type/size
Looking forward to seeing how this feature will flourish and become an integral part of Illustrator.

This issue seems to still exist on newer versions. Currently having the same issue on ver. 30.3 64-bit running on a Windows 11 Pro.
