Hi Everyone,
This feature has been shipped in August 2020 release (version 24.3)
You may read about this here: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2020-3.html#vertical-align
Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.
An error occurred while saving the comment Marc Dunker commentedSomething I'd like even further and just in general—vertical alignment on baseline. I want to have the ability to ignore the descender region when aligning without having to create outlines. Both point text and text area boxes have white space underneath the baseline—even if the text is in all caps!

In my case this isn't a script, it's recorded actions doing this.
For example, I recorded an action that plays another action in a sequence of other actions to copy/paste an object 10-up. The action works great, but when I close Illustrator and reload, the "Play action" steps of the action no longer have the triangle to the left that expands the details and I get a pop up saying those steps are unavailable. If I were to load the action, it will work again. Furthermore, this seems to only happen with newly created actions. I have a lot of older actions that have just been grandfathered down with CC updates and those work fine.

We have tried to fix the issue in the current release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.
Please refer to our knowledge base FAQ – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1844590 if you face difficulty in the update.

Adobe. Make It an Experience.PS: We are only referring to the issue that got introduced in CC 2018. As I can see there were few workflows that were existing even in older releases. Please log a separate request for it so that we all can track it better
An error occurred while saving the comment Marc Dunker commentedDoes this for me with multiple files. No common issue is apparent. It also sometimes gives this error when I try to duplicate an artboard.

An error occurred while saving the comment Marc Dunker commentedI have this issue and noticed several others that may be tied to the loaded cursor (place gun) implemented in 22.0.1.
Here's the link to what I posted yesterday.
It seems everything comes in as a group now. If I wanted my objects to be grouped, I would have grouped them in the library item.
I feel the loaded cursor can be cumbersome. I don't disagree with having the option, but I want an option. It was far quicker just to place a copy and move it to where I want instead of clicking, clicking again, etc.
Additionally, replacing linked graphics doesn't seem to work as well. I've tried all of the linking options and none behave the way 2017 and before did. If I linked an object before and replaced it with another cc library item, it would fit the width/height proportionally and adjust the bounding box. It no longer does this.

An error occurred while saving the comment Marc Dunker commentedAnother issue: Relinking a linked library item places at full size instead of the scaled container it was already within the document. I now have to relink, resize, align when before I just had to relink. this basically makes the relink form cc libraries option useless.
An error occurred while saving the comment Marc Dunker commentedI forgot to mention a new little quirk in placing a cc library copy also groups all items in the artwork. This is not what I want most of the time. I liked how it worked before...if the artwork was grouped/not grouped in the library item, it would be grouped/not grouped when placed.
You can do this now by creating an action for each point then assigning them f-key shortcuts. You have to select the object first, of course.
I have a Razer Tartarus Keypad at both work and home, so I assigned each shortcut to a keymap, so it's a one-button press function and I don't have to remember the function key or whether or not I need to hit CTRL+SHIFT, etc.
