I am happy to share that ‘Auto spell-check’ feature has been shipped in the latest version of Illustrator. Here is how to enable/disable it in the latest release : https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new/2020.html#spellcheck

There are options for image tracing in AI. Extended panel gives you an ability to select Strokes instead of Fills. Tweaking these can help you with that. Please comment back if you think these should be refined.

The team has encountered several issues with this feature. It requires them to change the basic algorithms and it is going to take them more time than anticipated.
While it still works in Beta 28.8.0.7, the next Beta build will have Inside/Outside aligned strokes for open paths disabled. The Beta is scheduled to be live on 7th of August.
Once this is ready to be enabled back, the team will update the status.

Dear users,
Can you please let us know what is that you cannot do with the existing 'save selection' functionality that you expect to do by grouping objects from different layers?
'Save selection' enables you to combine objects from different layers without having to bring them into one single layer.
To use 'save selection' just select your desired objects and save the selection from the select > save selection menu command or from the bottom of the layers panel.

The current workaround for completely eliminating 'Recent' section in font list is to set '0' in Preferences > Type: Number of Recent Fonts.
But since it’s stupid, please add votes to make it work properly.

Ha, yes I can relate. I am also a designer not a copywriter who would love to avoid getting the black sheep of the office / yelled at for spelling errors. That is a really good point. They (co-workers/supervisors) Expect the world of us, and think you can just push the magic design it button, or illustrate it button, which they assume takes 5 minutes! When we do deliver correctly they are just "meh, shrug, whatever" about it. If it's a tiny bit wrong, then yes, they like to yell at said idiot designer, in office because we didn't realize get all the errors. I do try to correct spelling esp bc I am a writer by hobby, not trade, but that is totally different! Can't wait for the update!
