Zoom works in two ways in Ai – one is based on the pixel density of the display, and other is on actual (physical) size of the element. The setting to control this is in:

Preferences > Display Print Size at 100% Zoom

Above setting ensures what you see at 100% zoom would be the physical size of the art. You can actually put a ruler against the screen and a 1inch rectangle will measure 1in on screen at 100%.

But this may not work right for screen design workflows. Make sure you uncheck this, if actual size zoom is not needed.

I don't think we really care about pixel view. We care about normal view in pixel view scale. What is right now is far from being right. Its wrong. Just wrong. You made a mistake. It happens. But its time to make things right, we pay for this, so please give us working product, not work in progress.

Yeah, 100% bad decision, to not giving us any option here.

Ritika, you are the third person from Adobe that is trying to convince me to this new super duper feature.
But believe me, we know better. We don't like it and we are not happy with it. We would like to see things as they are, not as Adobe wants us to see them.
True view is not cool, it make our work a little bit harder, and experience with your apps a lot worse.

Need More Info  ·  Yogesh Sharma responded

A couple of questions on this:

    1. Would it be okay to have a separate spec creation service much like the upcoming Adobe XD service? On this service, anyone with a link, can select any objects, and view its dimensions (W/H), colors, fonts etc. Or should it be inside Illustrator.

    2. Are you only going to create horizontal, and vertical dimensions? Or would you also like to have angular dimensions as well?

Please share more details about your workflow.

    Thanks,
    Yogesh
