Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

Hi,
Thanks for the information provided to the Illustrator team.
We are able to reproduce this issue at our end and the engineering team is currently isolating this issue further to get to the root cause. With Best Regards,

Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
As Andy commented that the memory issue was resolved after updating to 23.0.3, please try that.
Thanks & Regards,
Raghuveer SinghAn error occurred while saving the comment Ryan Cuthriell commentedI was trying to place a large JPG intoIllustrator and I continually get the notification: Not enough memory to place the file. I have a maxed out MBP, no idea why I can't place the file.

For example: In InDesign, to place a linked file it's command + D; in Illustrator it's command + shift + P.... why do Adobe products all have different basic keyboard commands?
