How about the ding-dongs monitoring this site try launching the application once in a while. "Not enough details to proceed further." means you didn't even look. SNAPPING. IS. BROKEN. GO. LOOK.

If you are still having problems with this, please provide a test file and a small video showing the exact workflow and the combination of options used. This would help to start investigation.

It’s dangerous to call things Smart... When they behave dumb, the name sound like an insult. Sadly, this is the case.
Please provide more specific cases, with video proofs, ask you colleagues to share and vote, to move this further. This is the way to force changes to things that are broken — be vocal and persistent. Thank you all and let’s hope we get heard.

Using version 30.1.
Smart guides and snapping is just fundamentally broke.
Either 1) guides don't show up regardless of settings, 2) partially show up (a line only, or an icon only), 3) don't update while dragging
Snapping + guides works intermittently, but only from the cursor, not from edges, making snapping to guides useless. I can't simply drag a square shape over to a guide and have it snap. Looking for alternatives.Ronald Smith

This is the same experience for me on the latest version 30.1
However, it seems to work intermittently. If I reset preferences, snapping may work for a while, but the guides won't display OR the guides will display but the snapping doesn't work (even with Snap to Point turned one, and Smart Guides turned on).
