Snap to Point does not work with Text Objects anchors
Snap to Point used to work on the anchor points of a Text Object. It's broken now.
If you are still having problems with this, please provide a test file and a small video showing the exact workflow and the combination of options used. This would help to start investigation.

In his screen recording I'm trying to show how live text can be selected by a point and it will perfectly snap to an object point / node in Illustrator 2025 (29.8.5). When I try to do the same thing in Illustrator 2026 (30.3), it does not precisely snap to any object, and snapping node to node of live test does not work at all. If this is not clear, please let me know and I will try to clarify with an additional video.
I do a lot of work with ADA sign systems where I'm dealing with very precise text heights and spacing that are dictated by laws, and the snap to point feature makes it very east to create and work in files with 100% accuracy.

If the text object is selected, it snaps. But often, a text object will not be selected when you want to snap to it. This video shows both cases. Note how the guide will snap to the unselected rectangle, not NOT to the unselected text object. (Illustrator 30.2.1 Mac)

I was hoping that this would have been fixed in the new 30.3 update, but it's still broken. I will try to post a video from Illustrator 29 (where it works) and on Illustrator 30.3 (where it does not). It might be kind of hard to explain or show though.

Hopefully this will get fixed soon, I use this feature dozens of times every day.

Snap to Point was able to snap to LIVE text’s anchors? Reported in 2018? Before Snap to Glyph got introduced (happened in 2020)? I don’t know... I’m checking it in CC2017 and can’t see it happening.
Perhaps it means 'outlined text’s anchors'? It worked always and works when I check.
There’s another report, about it not working in general, not only text, — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/39022795

Very broken. Recommend starting over.

Looks like Adobe Zucked it up, again. No reason for snap to point to stop working, except for trying to rush out new versions without solid QA.
