It is not as straightforward as it may sound :) We have been working to take advantage of threads and other hardware such as GPU/Video RAM in places where it can make a higher impact. We are prioritizing areas that are slow instead of making a generic change and destabilizing the product. Product stability is the top priority for us and we have been consistently trying to improve it. We want to move with caution and make changes without compromising on the quality. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Illustrator remembers the last preset used for saving PDF files and keeps it as the default preset.
What's New in the release - https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/whats-new.html
Thank you for all the feedback.

Hello,
We have started working on the tech that allows us to enable the following:
- Ability to convert the outlined/expanded text back to live text.
- Ability to lock objects to a character/glyph of a live text, allowing users to change the text (properties) while the object stays locked into the character.
As we work through the complexities of handling different font families, font size, and other font properties, we would love to meet with you and share our thinking around it and understand :
- Your use cases and workflows that this feature will help you with.
- What is most essential for you.
- The workarounds that you currently use to achieve this.

An error occurred while saving the comment Phil commentedIs it just the way i'm reading it or does this totally miss the point of the request?
The request was asking for the option to outline text when opening a file where the fonts don't already exist on the system (as you would do when flattening and converting text to outlines), this seems to be the opposite converting outlined text back to an editable font based text?Phil supported this idea · -

Can we improve on the current implementation, at the moment i have some documents that have a large amount of artboards (>200) these pdfs are created in a piece of barcode software but i need to be able to open in illustrator to add additional artwork (identical on each artboard) unfortunately when I try to open these PDF's the artboards start to tile themselves on a standard size canvas then throw up an error about not having enough space. Maybe include an option to open a pdf on a large or standard sized canvas ?
