All three stroke gradient types should be applicable to all three stroke alignments
All three stroke gradient types should be applicable to all three stroke alignments. At the moment, I can only use all three gradient types if the stroke is aligned to the center of the path. If I need to make for instance a circular gradient on a stroke (the second gradient option), I am forced to align the stroke to center.

This is very neccessary, because if you have gradient stroke outside artwork, then part of the stroke covers the artwork. I would really need to have gradient on outer stroke and with all three alignment options for the gradient.
Please make this possible. I have got the logic behind it explained, but from a user perspective I just want to accomplish the gradient stroke (with all alignment options), on the stroke outside, so artwork is not covered. So even if it is not "logic", then anyone using this would expect to be able to use any of the greyed out options, and get the same look on the stroke when it is outside as it is when it is centered.

New version and still broken, even after getting an email response from Adobe support saying that the problem was fixed?

Please fix this. It is beyond annoying to have to change outer/inner stroke to a center stroke and then manually offset it using effects. Just do it automatically for us please.
