Allow to change color & width of border / edges for artboards (all and active)
Sometimes when I am using black colour I cant see properly my artboard size so I have work with the guides instead of using the change artboard colour option so it gets annoying. If there were an artboard frame colour option it would be easier to compare my design w.r.t. the artboard

The team decided to revert the current look of the active artboard border (2 px black) to the way it used to look previously (1 px black) — many found it to be distracting.
This change will affect General, Beta, and Prerelease builds. No update is required, this flag will be toggled automatically, presumably in few hours.
The change is not final, and the team is considering making it better.
Watch this place for updates on the development.

Please make this optional. No need for everyone.

the thick border is distracting af. put it back how it was, it was never a problem and i dont think it improves the experience. at the very least, make it customizable

A specific example of where the change to thick artboard borders causes problems in our workflow is that in our printshop we handle a lot of artwork with cut contour lines along the edge of the artboard. Part of our process, especially when working with older legacy files originally prepared for a different workflow, is for the team to check for those cut contour lines. The new black border hides them unless you zoom in very closely, which adds unnecessary complexity.
I’ve also had team members mistake the new border for an actual layer object, thinking it was a black stroke around the artboard that they couldn’t delete. This confusion has created extra steps and slowed us down.

It's very distracting and too thick.

Just put it back how it was, no need to "explore alternatives."

I feel uncomfortable with the overly thick borders in the new Artboard design. It makes the design feel visually unclear compared to the thinner lines used previously. I believe the previous version was already sufficient for visibility. Please urgently consider reverting it back.

Event with their good intentions for HiDPI, I think it's imperative to give users customized options now that the team has changed the boundary.

Hey everyone, can we switch back to the old artboard thickness? The new one feels off and kind of annoying, especially since we’ve been working with the same layout for years.

I don't understand why they reversed something that was fine. I eagerly await the reversal so I can make the necessary updates. I'm using the previous version because of this pettiness.
Thank you for your attention. -

Incredibly distracting, to the point of barely being useable for current tasks, and utterly wild that it's inflicted on every single user to accommodate a select group of users. PLEASE at least allow it to be a setting that can be customised if not reverted entirely

Too distracting... please revert or give the option to change

Realmente es muy incómodo trabajar con ese marco. Debería ser una opción que se pueda elegir y no por defecto y sin posibilidad de modificarlo.
Espero que se resuelva a la mayor brevedad posible. It's really uncomfortable to work with that framework. It should be an option that can be selected, not the default with no possibility to change it.
I hope this gets resolved as soon as possible. -

This should not have been a universal change - this should have been implemented as an option from the start. It's not only wildly annoying - it also just made it more challenging to design with precision around the edge of the format (the artboard).
To add insult to annoyance, you've put the onus on designers - YOUR PAYING CLIENTS - to tell you how to correct your "improvement" - when it wasn't broken in the first place (for the majority of users). So you've just wasted my time, as well as the time of hundreds of other designers who care enough to provide feedback. And most are saying pretty much the same thing. One more reason to explore other design platforms...

Your recent addition of a thick black border to artboards is not only annoying, it's distracting. And giving the user no way to disable it - well, it's the design equivalent of forcing everyone to watch a movie with captions permanently on. It's that grating. I get that you are trying to add an accessibility feature - but one person's accessibility tool, is another's clunky distraction.
"Upgrades" like this are why people are flocking to other options like Figma.
And speaking of accessibility - this webpage is displaying 12pt font! Holy **** Adobe... you need to move into this millennium.

The border thickness should not have been implemented for all just because some users have issues. It' should've been an option not a general change. This is terrible. Please go back and give it as an option to be enabled if wanted.

There should at least be an option to be able to revert back to the standard artboard stroke. This change in having a thick border feels especially thick when zoomed out of the artboard, as the stroke does not scale proportionally.

There is now a thick black border on active artboard after recent update of Illustrator. It is really annoying :) Please reverse it back like is used to be.

Problem Description: Der neue Rahmen der aktiven Zeichenfläche stört extrem bei meiner Arbeit mit Fahnen und Flaggen. Man sieht die Konturen darunter nicht oder denkt es handelt sich um eine zusätzliche Kontur.
Steps to Reproduce:

I was surprised to open Illustrator with the latest update and find this new feature. Please add an option to disable the new black outline of the active artboard if we don't want it. It is very distracting.
