Artboard 1.png 140 KB
80 votesThe team decided to revert the current look of the active artboard border (2 px black) to the way it used to look previously (1 px black) — many found it to be distracting.
This change will affect General, Beta, and Prerelease builds. No update is required, this flag will be toggled automatically, presumably in few hours.
The change is not final, and the team is considering making it better.
Watch this place for updates on the development.

This would be AWESOME for hobbyists! I use Illustrator for my job. I, also, use Illustrator for some of my hobbies (Particularly stained-glass pattern creation and items destined for my Cricut).
I know several people who would love to learn the basics of Illustrator for their various hobbies but can't fork out the monthly cost. Perhaps an "Illustrator Lite" version for hobbyists who don't need the full features and let them purchase upgrades when desired?TT Kiker supported this idea ·

I'd love to be able to section the custom toolbars I make and either name them what works for me OR not have names at all.

It's kind of fun to play with, but it is certainly not helpful in my day-to-day at this point.

I would like the ability to group symbols like you can sort swatches to better find them in a hurry.
I have people symbols, medical symbols, tech/IT swatches I used on a regular basis and I have to name them all in a funky way to get them to appear together. When others use the file, they don't remember how to name them. it would be easier to be able to drag them to a group. -

I have a template with frequently used icons in the symbols palette. I would like the ability to select multiple icons in the symbols palette and drag them to the artboard at the same time.
Now, when I select several symbols in the palette and try to drag, I only get one of them on the artboard.
Being able to drag several simultaneously will save time AND wear and tear on the wrist.TT Kiker supported this idea ·

We have released the support for Gradient swatches in CC library with our latest release - v29.3
You can select the gradient swatch in swatches panel and add it to CC Library through the button on the bottom bar in the panel. You can also select any object which has gradient applied and add that gradient to CC Library through Add Elements from the Libraries panel and choose Fill Gradient from the drop-down menu.
Please update to this version from your Creative Cloud Desktop application and let us know your feedback.

A coworker of mine found a workaround. It's not "automatic", but it seems to be easier than inserting bullets manually:
- To keep a bullet point from changing to the color of the first character in the bullet point
- Type your text
- Choose the “Bulleted list” style
-Click before the first word in the bullet point and use “Shift + Ctrl + - “ . This inserts a “discretionary hyphen” between the bullet and the first letter of the line. This symbol takes up no space. An error occurred while saving the comment TT Kiker commented
Hello, Adobe!
Has there been any movement on this?
I'm sure we all would appreciate an update on whether or not you are looking into this.
Thank you!!An error occurred while saving the comment TT Kiker commented
Can we expand the options for bullets to control the color and size of the bullet? Currently, you cannot control these, and it is not compatible with many brand style guides creators must follow.
Sure, you can add a space and change the color of the empty space to control the bullet color, but then you have to add a space to every item in the list which is tedious.
In the attached screen grab, (template instructions from one of my files), you see an example of this. Our project managers want smaller bullets and the color to be the same regardless of what color the text may be.
And I create graphics for proposals/RFP responses; InDesign is not appropriate for wheat I'm doing.
Thank you!TT Kiker supported this idea ·

The 29.1 general release now allows to add gradient and pattern swatches into color groups.

Currently, you can only show pattern swatches in the top row of the Swatches panel. It would be handy to be able to group them together or with similar color swatches in Color Groups.

This bug is VERY annoying and takes up more time than one would think.

Can you make it part of the Preference settings? Like how we can change the colors of the Guides and Grid? If I have several artboards, it's truly frustrating to not be able to easily discern the active artboard.
