  1. Feature Request: Preference for Copy and Duplicate Layers without auto renaming and adding "copy" to them

    Hi Adobe 🙂

    I make large Illustrator files that have lots of layers, and often I find myself copying a layer that has a ton of sublayers. I spend way too much time renaming the copied layers removing the word "copy" or "copy 3" etc from the sublayer names.

    I have found some workarounds, if this helps anyone. If I want to copy a layer called **, I will copy it, then rename it XXXz then paste and the new pasted layer is ** without the name copy, then I can go back and remove the z from the…

  2. Synchronise tiled windows

    I would like to have all tiled windows use the same panning and zoom settings as the window I am currently working in.

    • How it's working now: each tiled window has its own zoom factor. Panning with the hand tool moves the view inside the active window.
    • How it should work: zoom and panning are synched between all tiled windows. They all have the same zoom factor and X/Y position. If I zoom in the active window, all other windows zoom in as well; if I pan in one window, all other windows pan in the same manner.

  3. Move document tabs under cursor when closing documents

    When closing multiple document tabs using the X button on the side of the tab, the next document will move under the cursor. However, the tab size changes based on window size, filename length, etc. A better way would be to resize tab length after the cursor is moved away. The result would be that if you close Tab 1, Tab 2 would slide over and the X button would appear under the cursor. Many tabs could be easily closed without moving the cursor.

  5. Text to Vector Graphics (Beta) Feature: Delete multiple Variations

    Hello,

    Please add the option to delete multiple AI generated variations.

    At this moment, if you hit the limit of generated variations, you are only able to select and delete 1 at a time, (which is very time consuming) instead of selecting multiple variations for deletion.

  7. Package and Export for Screens / Assets: Same As Current Document Folder button

    In Package dialog I’d like to have a button to change the path to the location of the current document.

    BTW, same button is needed in Export for Screens / Assets dialog.

  8. Lock tools or pallets to the edge when using multiple monitors?

    I'd like to be able to pin toolbars or windows to the inside edge when using multiple monitors. I like keeping my main display clear of obstruction and have my tool pallets against the "spine" between the two monitors on the secondary display. Illustrator only allows toolbar pinning to happen on the extreme left or right of all monitors... Please allow the ability to pin to the spine/seam of the monitors.

  9. AI: trace in style of...

    the new text to vector tool is amazing, especially the match to artboard/ stylepicker functionality.

    Now I would like to import a photo to the artboard of an existing Illustration and trace it in the same style/simplification of this already existing vector file.

  10. GRID in BACK/FRONT button

    It would be great to have the option of GRID ON BACK and GRID IN FRONT in the Properties panel, for example. near the SHOW GRID button as when working with GRIDS sometimes it's better to have them in front and others in back and for this I have always to get into the Preferences panel so as to activate/deactivate this option and it's really annoying...

  11. X & Y Sliders for Quicker Movement and Precision

    Please make X and Y position for an object have a slider like After effects. Instead of clicking the arrow keys or putting in a value, I should be able to select and object, then hover over they X or Y value and use the slider to only affect the object in one direction. This would greatly speed up layout design and allow for more precision. After effects does this perfectly already, and I think it would be a great addition to Illustrator. I would also say this feature could be added to W and H.

  13. Window Menu shows active panels as checked names but does not indicate panels that are tabbed in a group. Maybe add gray checks?

    My calculator panel idea in illustrator is shown in the attached picture

    Approximately, as I see it and based on the tasks that I solve in illustrator.
    It would also be nice if the Calculator and Transform panels work together. The principle is shown. Perhaps even understandable. An active window in one is an active window in the other...

    In general, a calculator is a useful thing and it would fit well into the adobe system.
    It would also be nice if the Calculator panel could interact with other panels with which this is possible.…

  16. Default Swatches and Styles as part of New Document Dialog

    The first thing I do every time I create a new document is delete all those default swatches and add my own. And those pattern swatches (e.g., "Jive," "Golden Ring," "Alyssa"), I am literally never going to use those.

    And those quirky Graphic styles ("Jive_GS" etc). I am literally never going to use those either.

    Ideally, I'd like to load up a document with its swatches, paragraph styles, graphic styles etc as part of the "new document" dialog. I can choose artboard size, bleed, margins, all kinds of things.

    How about if I could pick swatch groups, paragraph styles, graphic…

    A rajouter dans le menu Objet /Plan de travail :

    En choisissant cette commande le repère 0,0 des règles serait automatiquement ajusté en haut à gauche du plan de travail actif.

    A envisager : passer par une fenêtre de dialogue qui affiche les 9 petits carrés que l'on trouve dans transformation et qui permettrait de choisir sur quel angle ou quel centre on veut caler les règles.

    Cette fonctionnalité permettra de définir la position d'éléments ou de repères de façon rapide et précise par la saisie de valeurs numériques.

  20. "Soft Messages" interface in SDK, as alternative to modal dialogs

    Can the SDK get an interface for Soft Messages like the "Shape Expanded" message that quietly appears at the top of the screen, then fades away on its own? Sometimes modal dialogs or even floating windows are just way too intrusive to simply pass a message on to the user.

    I have managed to pretty much replicate this in one of my own plugins using annotations, but it would be much simpler if a few lines of code could allow any developer and any plugin to call a behavior that already exists in Illustrator.
