Custom presets for Asset Export
When adding in your own custom sizes and suffixes into the Asset Export panel it would be nice to be able to save these out as a preset for later use.
For my job I have to export the same image into 20-30 different sizes with individual names (suffixes) that don't change. That's why I thought it would be good if you could set up all the file sizes and names once then save it out as preset for later use or to even share with a colleague.
It would speed up the workflow for many people if this was a feature.
Yeah, Adobe this is torture … the ability to create presents, group and recall preset sets would be amazing.

Export for Screens is seriously handicapped! Settings should be saved with the file, so you don't have to manually re-enter the settings every time you export. The world includes much more than Android and iOS (ever hear of Windows or Mac? or the idea that not everything that's being exported is for standard app usage?). It shouldn't be easy to accidentally export files to the wrong directory, like the directory from a completely different project or some weird default directory. And, because many different files do share settings (beyond iOS and Android) there really should be the ability to create additional templates.

(I'm sure i've missed some)
Absolutely, this would make my life much easier.
Save custom export settings please!
Yes, yes, yes, please add this as a feature! Save custom export settings.
My issue was merged into this one, but they are not the same thing. My issue refers to the Export for Screens dialogue, not Assets Exports.
Additionally, I don't think having custom presets is a very good solution for my problem. Each time I create a file it has a different export location, and tends to have different settings for PNG transparency and retina/non-retina. Having to create a new custom preset for every new file would be a hassle, and particularly so if the file does not remember the last preset it used. Would much rather just have the file remember all the export settings.

This issue was just merged with another, but I don't think they are necessarily the same.
The idea of file specific export settings is different than custom presets. File Specific exporting settings keeps the settings the same for each file. Currently you need to reset your output location if you switch to a different file, because they are not saved. Presets on the other hand allow you to apply many settings quickly to a file, but they aren't necessarily changed on a file to file basis.
Totally agree with this, vote here too: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/39133189-export-for-screens-should-remember-settings-for-a
Would also be very helpful if when in artboard mode, you could toggle export/not export and have that setting save with the file, rather than having to select this in the Export for Screen dialogue.
PLEASE implement this.
BUT, can I ask you, please, for help to upvote a similar thread?!
Export for screens should be in RGB, but exporting from CMYK document it isn't! Please help!
Thanks, in advance!
I use Illustrator for a few different purposes: Icon design, screen mocks, wireframing. Using the Exports for Screens dialogue, for each of these tasks have different output formats:
Icon design: PNG, 3x scale, transparent background
Screen mocks: PNG, 1x scale, white background, some artboards omitted from the export
Every time I switch from one task and file to another, I have to reenter these settings, which is very irritating as it can happen many times a day. It also reduces my confidence that I have enterred the correct settings.
I also have different output locations for each file.
The Export for Screens dialogue should remember the last used settings on a per-file basis, or allow me to save a custom settings set and associate that with a file.
This would be a huge help!

I too need this feature :)
This is what I came here to ask for.
Working on several projects simultaneously and iterating on icon sets that have to be repeatedly updated with exports for app icons and several different formats for various applications... is a beast. It's a lot to wrangle to begin with, and then having to manually re-enter all of the specs every time a new iteration is exported is a huge pain point.
I saw some workaround which involved manipulating the settings files, creating one XML for each configuration, but that should not be necessary.

Sad indeed. I've been BFFs with Illustrator for almost 30 years , but even I find myself going to Sketch now when I know I'm going to be exporting and re-exporting a butt-ton of assets. I was really hoping CC2020 would add this basic AF feature—it seems like a no-brainer.

Sad to see only 39 votes here. This has to be an issue for any designer who actually uses the panel. deleting and adding over and over is very annoying- bad enough that I also have to keep changing the directory as well.
Yes please add this +1
