File opens with one color value & the values change when placed in a new document
Hi There, I am working in the latest release of AI on a MacBook Pro OS 10.15.4 (Catalina) and I am reporting a bug I've encountered.
To preface, I don't know the age of the original logo file. The artwork is a PMS chip value, saved in an RGB document.
To get the RGB value of the logo I opened the file and inspect the color. Since it was a PMS, I go to the RGB view either in the color panel or the selector in the tool bar & I see a specific value. (0/53/98) when I paste the…
2 votesTo ensure the colors match, all apps should have their color settings synced, manually or via Bridge. If the problem still exists when the settings and color profiles match, please provide the details about the chosen settings, the color settings configuration files, the test files themselves, screenshots, etc., so the team can try to investigate this.

My colors keep shifting values
I create swatches and it still doesn't remember shifts the value. RGB and CMYK. Seems to happen in every doc.

Spot Colors are not recognised.
When enough items are placed with the same spot color, Illustrator no longer recognizes other shapes with the same color

Show Tints/Shades menu issue
Show Tints/Shades menu in color guide does not allow to select a color on a first click, most of times you have to click several times to select the color, and on my Cintiq 13 Companion it is almost impossible to do it with the stilus.

Borders_Dashed Treatment Changes Spot Color to Process
I draw a box, stroke it with a spot color, apply a "borders_dashed" treatment. The Spot color becomes process. Please fix.

App Lag when using Recolor
I am working with Adobe Illustrator 29.7.1 on Windows.
When using the Recolor dialog the app stops responding to any command or action I take outside from the artwork display.
The app also doesn't inform me if there is a crash or that the app is not responding.

In "recolor artwork" when I select a "user defined" color palette, it lets me chose it, but will not use those colors.
In "recolor artwork", when I select a "user defined" color palette, it lets me chose that palette, but will not use those colors in the recoloring options. For instance, I can select the color palette, but when I go to randomly change the color order, it does not use those colors, it only uses the colors that are already in the artwork.
In previous versions, once I selected the "user defined" colors, that selection of swatch colors would appear in the "Swatch group" side panel. That no longer happens. And as stated before, just doesn't work in general.

Color changes when saving as .eps
Saving out a pattern with a purple background as .eps turns out as black when previewing the file on the computer or in pdf-reader and when opened on other computers. Opening the file back into illustrator still shows everything as purple.

Links panel shows wrong colour space
In a CMYK document the Links panel shows RGB images as CMYK. In the example image a PNG, which can never be CMYK, is incorrectly reported as being CMYK.
This is in a CMYK Illustrator file. In an RGB file the image is correctly reported as being RGB. Placed CMYK images are correctly reported as CMYK.

Gradient panel causes bugs
The gradient panel really makes me nervous. On rare occasions when dropping a color onto a gradient handle to change it, Illustrator suddenly just closes without a warning. Just gone in a split second along with all my work. No auto save. Nothing. It even won't show my recently opened files when I open it back up. This issue also happened the last time Illustrator was updated but then it was fixed. Please fix it again as I'm always SUPER nervous when I have to change settings for a gradient. We are unable to reproduce this issue in house.
Can you help the Illustrator team to isolate this issue further so that we can nail this down?
If yes, then please let me know the following:
1) Kindly provide some video , Test file(Via File→Package) & some steps with which you are facing issue
2) kindly also share your preferences folder with us in a zip file. You would be able to find the preferences folder in the below location:
MAC: /Users//Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 24 Settings (Kindly press Command + Shift + G and write ~/Library and ok and then go to preferences )Win: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 24 Settings

Unable to Merge swatches, screen freezes
In latest version of Illustrator 2020, I am running the script that brings Swatch Conflict Dialog, which is ok but it does not allow me to merge swatches. I cannot select or change radio button selection. I have attached the screenshot of the dialog.
1 voteYou can disable alerts during script execution with below method
app.userInteractionLevel = UserInteractionLevel.DONTDISPLAYALERTS;
This assumes the default option selected in the dialog and proceed with further script execution.

100% black will not output to film as 100%
Came across this same issue now using CC 2017 but was able to isolate it. Customer file in CMYK color space, black at 100% nothing in the document except a 100% black rectangle. Illustrator reports 100% black but when output to film black is approximately 80%. Copying the entire content to a new document the output is at 100%. Using the original document and changing the color panel to grey scale black is 100%. Changing back to CMYK black is also 100% black. Placing the file into another dicument also produces 100% black.
