App crashes when selecting tools from sidebar using the Apple Pencil on M2 12.9 iPad pro

Nope that’s not the case for me. I even deleted the Apple Pencil from my settings to see if it makes a difference. It does not. AI still crashes within seconds of opening it.

Please try to go to Settings > Apple Pencil and turn off Show Effects.
Illustrator does not yet support Pencil hover (https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT211774) and you are happen to have it available for your specific iPad.

I need help. Whenever I access the file and start doing something, the program crashes (closes) repeatedly. I can't do anything in it. I've updated it, deleted and reinstalled the program, restarted the iPad, but nothing works. It keeps crashing on me. Thank you, waiting for a response and a solution to this problem because it's not the first day, and I have a paid subscription, and secondly, I need to work, but I can't.

Just upgraded to 17.1.1 and this is happening every time I use the Apple Pencil. There was NO issue before upgrading to 17.1.1 (i.e. 17.1)…this is a new issue specific to 17.1.1

Every app (procreate, fresco, etc) that uses hover works as expected. AI crashes immediately and what is worse is that there is no explanation. At least alert users that the hover is causing the crash. I wasted and lost a ton of work because I didn’t understand the correlation until it happened a few times.

This makes it almost impossible to use the app

Every time my apple pen comes close to or tries to tap a menu item, the whole page shuts down and I have to relaunch the page. This problem does not occur in the ideas or procreate apps.

I've since learned that this isn't an Adobe issue, it's an Apple issue, specifically for M2 iPads. If everyone impacted by this issue reported it on the Apple forums, perhaps it would be addressed more quickly.

I can’t believe this bug hasn’t been patched yet🤬! I literally can’t use one of the stand out features of the second gen Apple Pencil and M2 iPad in order to use illustrator on my iPad. We should not have to have hover effects turned off to use illustrator. Please PATCH THIS ADOBE!
