184 votesThis issue is probably happening because the artboard dimensions are not appropriate for raster export (i.e. are in decimals).
If you make x and y values as the whole numbers in the transform panel (not in decimal), then the extra pixels will not be added to the exported image. That is the workaround, and it’s reported that it’s not always the case. At the same time — Ai knows the size of artboards to be exported and yet it does not deliver the set sizes, which is not fair. The team is going to rethink the algorithm. Al

3 votesThere are now several separate requests made, based on the feedback in this thread: 1. Regarding adjustable color and opacity for 3D shadows: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47054086 2. Regarding presets for each tab in 3D and Materials panels: Object, Materials, Lighting: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/47350001 All those who commented on the topic until October 16, 2023, are already added as voters there. If this is something you want to have for 3D and Materials in Illustrator — please upvote it. If possible — create new requests and bug reports about 3D, rather than commenting here inside. This will help the team to better prioritize efforts on making the feature better. As always — thanks for the feedback! It helps. An error occurred while saving the comment Al

 commentedOpacity lost on overlaid object.
Also ultimately just using to quickly render vector shapes in appropriate 3d plane. I don't understand how to expand them back out as simple vector lines as in before effect was applied.

commentedGreat take on the artboard naming!
I'd just like a general set of abilities, like the ability to reset artboard names back to their order number, or auto add artboard name suffix/prefixes, etc. Just some general options for auto artboard naming would be so time saving for storyboarding.

Artboard naming, is very inconsistent and creates unexpected results.
If I rename it quite often won't lock, just defaults to previous, if I use a file and save as for a series of other files, they'll revert to the original fee names, even after successful renaming of previous files in the series.
The artboard's struggle to export with correct names, sometimes if duplicate names appear it will save both with a 1 after some whilst ignoring others. With no error message.
