S M, I know some changes were made into the way Japanese punctuation is handled, described here:
    https://blog.adobe.com/jp/publish/2024/05/09/cc-design-illustrator-text-update

Not sure though if it answers the question.
When do you recall this handled the way you expect, in what version?
Would you please share some examples?

    A related request:
    Make Snapshots for History panel

    Interesting.
This is somewhat similar to feature that Photoshop has, in its History panel. Unlike in AE, one can create many snapshots and toggle between them. Combined with Non-Linear History (if enabled) it provides many way to review and rewind.

AE’s function is one slot only. But it’s not that straightforward to make something similar for Illustrator... Both AE and Ps are raster-based, and 'a snapshot' is just a raster image stored (although Ps actually stores duplicates of all layers in a snapshot).

What should Ai do, being a vector editor? To keep a hidden copy, one per document? Store a whole canvas, or a current artboard only, Do not provide a way to restore from a snapshots (like AE does), or allow to fall back to it (like Ps allows)?

In AE it’s mostly about animation, and the feauteres is designed to compare frames, to control the times, the changes across the timeline, to verify if a layout is the same, etc. What would you use it for in Ai?

This requires more thinking. Please share your thoughts and answers.

Marc, please provide an example of a folder structure and the changes made that lead to a failure when relinking files back like this.
I made several test to try to make it saved and was not able to make it loose links. I tried several nested folders, renaming all or few, to move the source file... unless you completely change the relative order of links, Ai was able to pickup all — for me.

As for the Relink to Folder option, similar to the one InDesign has (can’t say I recall Blender having it, but sure it can), like the attached screenshot shows, — it feels like a separate request I encourage you to make.
Th situation with identical names... I struggle to imagine files with identical names within a single folder :) if you mean different folders within a parent one — why should these be mixed, if their relative paths are different?
Perhaps you need to give more examples to justify and elaborate this.

Marc, it requires you to enable the option at the bottom of the dialog, 'Search for missing Links in This Folder', like the attached screenshot shows.
Please try and see if it helps.

And sure I agree with the last sentence — somewhat.
Serif does not implement all the stuff users ask of them, including things Ai has been having for decades.
However, AD users wait less time for these, compared to Ai users and some other basic needs. I really envy some things they made, but can’t imagine not having others. So... https://xkcd.com/927/

Wow, it’s been ten years since AD launched, indeed! Quite a journey.
They certainly were able to pull it further than Ai was able in its first ten years. Timelines are incomparable, since Ai started way earlier, and had to invent all these things AD now adapts rapidly (and invent some new ones!)
It’s a long way ahead for both. AD has to learn plugins and scripts, blends, proper patterns, etc. Ai has yet to learn to listen to us and hurry up with changes like this.

@Linus, this is not for the AI team to implement :) This forums is a third-party tool, maintained by a separate company. If you have a request for branching comments — you better ask them to do it in their own Userevoice’s Uservoice — https://feedback.uservoice.com/forums/1-general-feedback/suggestions/733624-threaded-comments-for-replying-to-specific-comment

    But honestly, I don’t feel it's crucial.

I’m seeing a single object getting stuck to the cursor, not 'everything' as you claimed... perhaps you meant 'each' object.
Judging by the sound of clicks. you are using a MacBook of sorts, correct? Does it mean you are using touchpad?
Do you have a chance to test this with a mouse connected?

Barrie or Maria, would you please share a recording of the problem?
Do these objects get selected after they get moved?
Does it affect only on current artboard or others as well?
Can you reproduce it in a new document?

This 'greatcutadobeplugin2024.aip' seems to be a third-party plugin.
You should contact its developer and investigate from their side.
At the moment it should help to locate it and remove form Plugins folders.

I like the idea, but it would be hard to implement within the current paradigm.

Same problem applies to revolving, twisting... each time the object get realigned to the original shape, so that their position match, to avoid confusion between actual position and the rendered appearance.
    Worth it, I think.

Mara, currently there are three related entries:
    1. A general request to make keyboard shortcuts work for different input languages — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/39628447
    2. A mixed report about Tilde key to move a pattern within shape not working — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/41072941
    3. A rather unknown request to allow the same functionality without holding a key, as a toggleable option (with a complicated story behind it) — http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/46718269
I think your request can be merged into this third one. Would you agree?

Mara, Ai allows this — in a way.
Select your shape filled with a pattern.
    Grab Scale tool.
Click and drag and press ` key (the one that is usually below Escape on English keyboards) — it does not matter if you press it before or after a click (in Ai).
Ai should start scaling only the pattern, but not shape while you holding it.
Same applies to Rotate and Shear tools. Won’t work for Free Transform tool (it is specifically designed to alter geometry) and with just-corner-handles of the bounding box frame (for unknown reason).

This hardly works on some keyboards that don’t have the key, like French, and Ai offers no way to remap it to something else (there are several reports here at UV about it).

    Does it work for you?
If it does — does it solve the problem for you?
    Please comment back.

    This one doesn’t.
At your other report though 123pan does not allow to download several files at once.
But the only one — allows to.
    Will try to reproduce it.

Requires registration to download, won’t do.
Even the filename can’t be copied and is pushed into a webpage as an image.
    Pretty bad UX :(
I can’t say Wetransfer.com is much better, but it doesn’t force registration.

There are several way to mirror in Illustrator.
And English, sadly, have to many synonyms for this, and it’s hard to tell who will remember which one... and I don’t know what language do you use for the UI.

    Ai has:
    1. Reflect Tool (in the Rotate Tool’s tool group), and its dialog one can call with Enter key
    2. Dedicated Flip buttons in Properties panel, in Transform section
    3. Flip commands (in the Transform panel’s menu)
    4. Object > Repeat > Mirror type of object, for having it live
    5. An advanced way to flip art with a Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform effect (with a proper reference point set, 1 copy chosen, and Reflect X option enabled)

Some of these are more prominent, some are less.
    Can you locate them?
Please tell more about the experience you had. Where did you try to search for these?

This is both sad and relieving to hear... Without a crash report generated it’d be hard to track it. Perhaps the problem happens at the lower level then.
If it happens next time, please try to recall the details of your workflow at the moment and try to reproduce it.

Did you get a crash reported dialog when it crashed? Did you send it, if yes? Just in case — did you use the same exact email you use at UV, if yes (so that I can ask the team about it)?
Does it stay stable with other file? or new files?

    Veronika, please tell more.
    Do you have this often?
Do you have the latest Ai version?
Do you try to save locally on a disk or in the cloud?
Do you have permissions set for Ai to write on a disk?
Does it behaves the same if you try to use Ai-compatible PDF to save?
Can you reproduce this with a brand new file? does it differ form saving changes into an existing file?
    What are your OS specs?

    I confirm that.
I remember noticing it when using Pathfinder, to have separate sectors, but I never studied the problem.
    Thank you for reporting this.

So far I am seeing two somewhat simple workarounds:
    1. Enable Gap Detection option in the Shape builder Tool Options — it’s usually is disabled by default
    2. or tweak the tolerance in the Pathfinder Options, from the panel’s menu
...or scale the shape 10% — the gaps will become small enough for the Shape Builder to ignore them — and then scale back to 1000%.

The reason why it happens is both simple and complex.
A circular ellipse with 4 points in any vector editor in not a REAL circle, but a close enough approximation of it. This is how Bezier curves work. Radii lines meantime have the exact lengths. You can check it with a normal ellipse, or by creating a polar grid with 4 sectors and checking the gaps in it.

Technically Ai could have calculated a better approximation of a circle in these case, by adding more points for these... as an option, of course, to not break possible workflows users can have with this quite basic tool (not everyone would respect 5-pointed circles).

Take a look at these two related UV entries:

    1. http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/34684633 — this is very the Ai team had to cheat to make live shapes to tell a lie about a diameter being a constant value, to hide the reasoning (after all, it’s complex enough to grasp). If once converts a live Ellipse into a path and rotates it — Ai will tell the truth, and the 'diameter' (width or height really) will cahnge.

    2. https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/33499646 — 'Circles in Illustrator are not accurate' ...well, they never are in Bezier’s math.

Can you please share an example of the case when these points do get appear and to demonstrate what kind of alignment you have to do manually?

Also — can you check if you have Remove Redundant Points option enabled in Pathfinder panel’s flyout menu? When it’s one, Ai will try to remove extra points that don’t influence the curvature of a result, within the given precision.

What happens if you select Anchor Point tool specifically (it’s a solo tool that Ai switches to when we hold Opt/Alt when dealing with handles) — does it allow you to edit handles?
In your normal workflow, when you are getting a copy — what tool do you have selected?
