This is exactly what Illustrator does when we hold Cmd/Ctrl while dragging. In this case it prioritizes the position of the cursor, and makes it snap exactly by the point grabbed to the point hovered on. Please, try it and leave the comment if it solves it for you (or not).

This is something Live Paint can already do. If you mean something else — please elaborate.
An error occurred while saving the comment Sounds quite similar to the existing Live Paint tools in Illustrator. Have you tried it?

An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua, as a workaround try to apply Transform effect to the group. If it won’t help, try applying the Outline Stroke or the Outline Object effect to the group before Transform.

An error occurred while saving the comment Turbold, you can create big canvas documents now it recent versions of Illustrator. You can’t convert existing ones (I hope for now — and there is a separate request for it), but you definitely can make it on document creation. You loose one decimal space of precision though, but 'who needs fractions of a point when you design huge things?'

An error occurred while saving the comment Strange indeed... Glad it got fixed though!
Next time try to save a copy of the doc as it is. Maybe it's some s rare combination of parameters that cause it. And it’s sad that it’s still there inside, it’s just we can’ catch it.An error occurred while saving the comment Jordan, thanks for the detailed video. This is... upsetting.
Can you do these things:
1. Try to copy/paste these three objects in a new document with the same artboard size and try to distribute them there (to understand if it is document related or not)
2. Leave objects as they are, delete everything else, save a copy of the document, check if the bug stays after Illustrator is relaunched and then email it to the sharewithai@adobe.com for the investigation
3. You can try to reset preferences for Ai (careful though!), this might help (but it may also not). -

An error occurred while saving the comment Hm, looks like a hardware rendering issue.
Can you share your laptop tech details here, including video chip? Can make some use for further investigations. -

An error occurred while saving the comment OK, thanks. What I think you should need to do then, is to package this document (File > Package) and email it to sharewithai@adobe.com for further investigation. They will need these fonts and the doc and screenshots to do it.
And yep, it happened with me once, but very briefly. An error occurred while saving the comment Does it happen for all of your fonts, Samantha?

An error occurred while saving the comment Yep, same happens with Scale! I believe this is related with moving the object in-between dialogue calls... Can you help me in catching this? What steps should a user perform to have this gibberish instead of previous value?

File seems to be permanently stuck in isolation mode resulting in many objects being unselectable

107 votesI am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.1 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!
An error occurred while saving the comment Yeah, Bruno, that is what I experienced too!
Can you provide some detailed steps how to reproduce it? I had to roll back in 2020 for now, so I could not do it.An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, I can confirm that, it happens all the time.
You can unlock temp layers and convert-reorder everything back, but this is obviously sis broken!
Something related to undos and compound path, had not time to figure it out yet. -

An error occurred while saving the comment May be the width of your screen is insufficient to display all the elements of the Control bar... Try to click the rightmost button there (three 'list' lines) and tick off options you don't need in the drop-down menu. Pleas report if it helps.

Font Hight Options (can be toggled in the Character panel’s flyout menu) now allow to set the size of the font exactly based on the calculated size of capital glyphs (along with other options).
Read more about it here.
An error occurred while saving the comment Chris, yes, even with the 'Align to Glyph Bounds' option (located in Align panel’s flyout menu) it still is measured by em-box, which includes side-bearings — they make a space between glyphs.
What I have though is the script that can partially ease your pain:

https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/33610747-add-an-option-for-trimming-side-bearingsAn error occurred while saving the comment Chris, there is a new Font Height Options in the latest release that almost fully address this, along with Align to Text option.

An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry, I don’t get it. Do you refer to the iPad version? If yes, that it IS the wrong branch of the right forums :) This is Desktop Ai branch, instead of iPad. If no, you mean the desktop one, then these are already there.

Andros, does it help if you hold Ctrl when moving? It then snaps exactly the point grabbed to the point hovered on. Please, try it.
