It’s not about arrows. It’s because for some object Distribute commands are displayed and they takes the space Transform controls would take instead. What you can do is to press Control panel menu (rightmost button with three stripes) and untick Align and/or Distribute controls to make sure that Transform will always visible. Also, for now this is the only way, Illustrator doesn’t allow to change the order of controls for Control panel :(

An error occurred while saving the comment The blue stroke item in Appearance is collapsed (the arrow before the 'Stroke' facing right). Try to expand it and you could see the effect applied to it.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the feedback. Want to give an update that we have removed the dialog, and the new experience is available in our latest release build – 24.1.1 for Win and 24.1 for Mac which is available worldwide now, in case you want to give it a try. Now, there will be no blocking message, we will show a “soft message” which will auto-dismiss .
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

An error occurred while saving the comment You mean physically cut the excess line? Or hide temporarily?
If cut, then there is Join tool and external Dynamic Sketch by AstuteGraphics, and native Join tool (not command) can somewhat do that too.
If hide, please explain more. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I repeat here too, as in many other places regarding shortcuts: everything should be key-bindable and re-bindable.

Does it do what you want?
If not, please explain your workflow. -

An error occurred while saving the comment It's OK, Mark, it happens sometimes.
The video is not mine, but thanks :)An error occurred while saving the comment There's a way to add custom bevel, Mark.
Go to Adobe Illustrator CC 2019/Support Files/Resources/en_US (or whatever your language is)
Open Bevel.ai. Open Symbols. Duplicate any existing symbol and change it to one you want. Resave, relaunch. Now you will have your profile in 3D Extrude options.
Here's a video: https://youtu.be/wTmxvXB64sY
It's OK-ish way to do it, so I won't vote for you request though. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Russel, I get it now. That 'x' allows you to clear the filed, it's not prohibition sign. To type hotkey in the field, you should click it next to the 'x'. Then field will change color and get a frame that indicates it's listening.
An error occurred while saving the comment Russel, I don't get it. As I check, there IS a way to add shortcut to this command.
Edit > Keyboard shortcuts: Menu commands, search 'Find' and there you have it, very first reslt. Is there a problem with setting it? I check and it's OK. -

You can assign your own hotkeys to different tools with Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.
Also, you can pick Pencil, hit Enter )or double-click the tool’s button) to open the Pencil Tool Options dialog and check 'Alt key toggles to Smooth Tool' — this will allow to quickly temporarily access Smooth on the go while you are working with Pencil.
Same applies to the Brush and Blob Brush stools by default.
An error occurred while saving the comment Yo're welcome, Tara :)
An error occurred while saving the comment Just go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and set a shortcut you like for the tool you want.

Use 'Save a copy' command instead of 'Save as', it does exactly what you want.

Illustrator today offers Font Height Options, to set the font size using x-height and cap height. This should help following standards and controlling the exact dimensions of type.
An error occurred while saving the comment Caps height size doesn't equal font size.
An error occurred while saving the comment I feel sorry for you, but this is not AI's fault, but how the fonts are described. Read about cap height, x-height and font size.

An error occurred while saving the comment I don't get it. Why do you edit PMS swatch? Just grab if from the library.
Secondly, it sounds like you have RGB document, but I don't think you haven't checked it.
Then I think I just don't understand. Can't you explain a bit more? -
