An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Darleen Shannon commentedWhen using the Package function (File > Package), there is a check-box option to "Create Report" which generates a TXT file containing document info that is automatically saved into the destination folder. Similarly, it will be helpful to have an option to generate an image file (JPG/PNG/TIFF) or PDF of the document that is automatically saved into the destination folder as well.
An image file or PDF of the document could serves as a preview (ie, a user could simply download a relatively small image file to preview the document without having to download the entire Packaged folder). Having an image file or PDF of the document to reference can also help ensure that the AI file appears correctly across different versions of Illustrator, or to ensure colors are appearing correctly, etc.

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

Yep, there is a way to change the color of edges for a selection of layers — 'Options for Selection' command in the Layers panel’s flyout menu.
But perhaps the original poster meant colored backgrounds to mark layers? Like Photoshop allows to and like we can do with actions in button mode?
If yes — please make a separate request about this.

Thanks!
Yes, I use the package function regularly to prepare documents to be uploaded to our manufacturing partners overseas. And other designers working remotely.
I tried creating an Action but both the Package function and export as require a step to import the destination folder.
If this feature is added it would speed up the workflow.
