Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

It's like have been more than 10 years since the Photoshop changed scaling behavior to be proportional by default, without the need to press Shift button. I have tried the Free Transform tool (E), that has the toggle to scale selected object proportionally, but it resets back to 0 state each time this tool is being used again.
Selection tool (V) has a property of "Maintain Width and Height proportions", which does absolutely nothing to preserve object proportions when scaling items.
Default behavior of non-proportional scaling makes sense when designing something, but it gets in the way when arranging items on a canvas. That would be awesome, if there was an option in Preferences to change the default scaling mode, and ideally to have a toggle on a top panel to quickly change the mode of a selection tool (V)
Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects. All of them have different treatment of scaling behavior. Such an essential and basic stuff that gets in way when it comes to muscle memory.
To scale object proportionally from the center, users need to press:
Photoshop: Alt+Drag
Illustrator: Alt+Shift
After Effects: Shift+Drag
