    Hi Egor,
So sorry: I got sick so I am a bit later.
Yes, the pressure matters. But the pressure in the previous versions was not causing this problem. I usually have pressure turned on except if I need a specific width, which is hardly ever the case with the intuitive drawing tools. So, pressure is usually turned on.
The problem with the width profile is especially bad in custom width profiles, even if they are quite simple. But it's the 'Blob Brush' that causes the most problems. When I am teaching I see results that are not manageable so nowadays I immediately explain the 'Smooth' and 'Simplify' options. But this never used to be required.

    Hi Egor,

Correct: it is width profile number two! 😀

For the 'Blob Brush' settings: here is a screenshot.
I also notice this when Pathfinder is used.

If hidden simplification was applied, I can understand why the results are better in older versions. I never really noticed a slower speed though. And in this case it just never happens. The result is sheer horror. If I expand a stroke with a special width profile I create myself it's, well, beyond comprehension at times. I now resort to using a shortcut to immediately apply simplification, but 😬

This has been a problem for a while now.
Illustrator often crashes if I touch the scrollbar, so this has now been included in the course books because students experienced it as well. I now only pan with the spacebar and stay away from the scrollbars, which I hardly used at all anyway, but students do.

    Thanks.
I know how to edit the shortcuts, but I thought it would be good to help people use the shortcuts correctly. I can't count the times when I had to tell students that no, they should not add Shift to get the double quotation marks that are listed, but just the single one 😊

So, after all this time I thought I would ask, and suggest a correction.
    Thanks!

I just stumbled onto this topic.
'Paste In Place' always works fine for me. But I think something is forgotten in this thread since no one mentioned it. The rulers need to be for the artboards, and not for the entire document.
So, go to 'View > Rulers > Change To Artboard Rulers'.
'Paste In Place' should work fine now.

Depending on the template your file is based on the rulers may use different coordinates. So; check them. And reset them to fit your needs.
