An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment KhalidR commentedIt would be really useful if the missing images retained the path to where they were linked to when the file was last saved. This would help identify which ball park to start our searches for re-linking.
Thank you.
Apologies if you have already had this request. if not, I'm surprised!KhalidR supported this idea · -

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

This feature is now available in all the public builds starting V 28.5. Please give it a try and let us know what you think!
An error occurred while saving the comment KhalidR commentedCan't we have at least all the other images in the same folder relink automatically, if for now, we have to relink at least one?

An error occurred while saving the comment KhalidR commentedYou have an excellent feature called Close All which gives you the option to save all whilst closing. It would be really, really useful to have a save all function too! This is especially useful when you have a few large slow saving/opening files, and you don't want to lose the changes you've made across all of them but want to carry on working without having to Close All, as mentioned at the start in order to save all.

An error occurred while saving the comment KhalidR commentedMerging several single line text into one word wrapping text box.
The need often occurs when open old AI files or flattened PDFs that converts paras into single line entries.
It would be great to be able to select all these single lines and merge them back into one text box with correct word wrapping.KhalidR supported this idea · -

Hello,
We have started working on the tech that allows us to enable the following:
- Ability to convert the outlined/expanded text back to live text.
- Ability to lock objects to a character/glyph of a live text, allowing users to change the text (properties) while the object stays locked into the character.
As we work through the complexities of handling different font families, font size, and other font properties, we would love to meet with you and share our thinking around it and understand :
- Your use cases and workflows that this feature will help you with.
- What is most essential for you.
- The workarounds that you currently use to achieve this.

Happy to announce that we have introduced 'Preview Missing Fonts' functionality to improve your experience when working with files that contain unavailable fonts.
If you open a file with missing fonts, Illustrator will now render the text correctly on the artboard in Preview Mode, even if the fonts are not installed on your system. This ensures the files appear as intended without requiring immediate font installation.
How does it work?
1. When you open a file with missing fonts, the Missing Fonts Window will appear, listing fonts that are in Preview Only Mode.
2. Close the Missing Fonts Window to view the text rendered accurately on the artboard.
3. You can optionally select the text, go to Objects -> Expand… to convert the text to outlines.
4. The text in Preview Mode is not editable. If you attempt to edit the text in Preview Mode, a warning will appear, notifying…

An error occurred while saving the comment KhalidR commentednot always repeatable. this happens when you least expect it to. What opened fine one day, then opens with the odd image shrunk and moved. Tried to repeat the process this morning and the same file now works fine. I'll try and document the next time I have this problem...

5 years on, we are still missing this detail?!?!?!
WHY???
Surely this must be a quick fix as the coding is already there in the other Adobe packages?
