Non-Destructive Path Trim
It would save me incredible amounts of time if I could simply--and non-destructively--trim a path.
Example:
I create a character's arm using a tapered stroke. I then duplicate that tapered stroke so that it can function as a shirt sleeve.
<Here is where the issue comes in...>
There's not a good way to trim that duplicated stroke to function as a sleeve. I can add points and delete the stroke, but the width won't match anymore. I can create a clipping mask, but it's a pain and makes adjusting the characters pose needlessly laborious.Being able to trim the path…

Scale stroke width of multiple points
I'd like to be able to scale the stroke width of multiple points at the same time, that way they match. That, or copy the stroke width value of one point and be able to paste it onto another.

Star Tool: include center/origin lines
This would be a small addition, but one that I think would be valued. All regular stars (that is, not "fun" stars whose inner circle radius has been enlarged to make them "puffy") are made up either of:
- A repeated/rotated shape
- A single line bouncing off the outer diameter that eventually meets itself again
It would be a nice addition to this tool for those "origin lines" to be represented in the output so that we can more easily create art based on those lines instead of having to re-create the lines manually.

The generative fill has disappeared. When I asked about this before someone had replied that it only works in a certain version. Which is it?

Guided tracing brush (Snap to trace), similar to Photoshop’s Content aware image trace
The automatic full image tracing in illustrator often does not create useful results. The set of lines is too busy or doesn't line up with where a human would consider the edges to be.
As an alternative, a brush tool tool that snaps the lines to the underlying image layers would be more helpful. Human input shows the general location of a line, and illustrator can then snap the line to the nearest set of pixels that appears to be an edge, helping make smooth an accurate traces without excess lines.

An option to hide units in dimensions made with the Dimension Tool
Can you add an option so that the units are not displayed for dimensions and only the number is displayed? Thank you.

Toggle the option in the tool’s options dialog to force it for new objects, or disable it in the Properties panel for existing and selected dimensions.

Reshape Tool is a rather hidden tool within Illustrator’s toolbox.
It never received any updates (as many other tools) in last decades, and got even worse thanks to one specific improvement.Illustrator today allows to increase size of anchor points, handle, and other control markers (referred below as just 'markers') with a dedicated parameter in the Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display section). When enlarging the screen, it is convenient to disable ‘□Scrubby Zoom’.
When zooming out the screen, it is convenient to check '▣Scrubby Zoom'.

Allow Shape Builder to close edited path, but keep the one below opened
Hi there!
So, the thing is that - when I have 2 intersecting open filled paths, I really want to remove the outside path of one path using Shape Builder tool. But I want the second path to stay open. and the first path to become closed.It may sound as a picky request. But I struggle with this issue everyday, like, 20+ times.

Dimension tool improvements
The dimension tool is a really helpful thing but some improvements would be appreciated.
As stated in other posts, please include the possibility to add user defined scalings, including decimal numbers like 1:1.5 and other ones, like 1:15.
According to ISO standards, the dimension text should sit above the lines, as viewed from the right. This would be a great option, because at this moment I don't use this tool regularly because of this.
When dimensions are too small, there should be an option to move the text away, either to the right or the left. Of course this can…

Set "Registration" (and/or other library color) to Dimension tool
I would like the ability to set the size color in "Registration" on the lines and text. Unfortunately currently (version 28.1) it is possible to freely set the colors but it is not possible to set the Registration color or other colors present in the document samples. This would be very useful for me when printing color separations for different uses.

Allow us to set up the default and stepped Dimension Line Offset for the Dimension tool
When we Opt/Alt-click the object or just click a segment, Ai creates a dimension with some predefined distance between the object and the dimension line.
We can’t control it (plus we can’t choose which sides to use for Opt/Alt mode anymore, unlike in early Betas).Also, we need to be able to hold a modifier while creating a dimension to constrain this offset to a set parameter, in a stepped manner, — something third-party plugins like BPT Pro and CADtools can do.

【寸法ツール】オプション設定内への要望
Illustratorで簡易図面を描く事が多い為、Beta版で追加された「寸法ツール」はとても便利な機能となるはずなのですが、現状では重要な機能が足りておらず図面という用途では使用できません。
【要望1】「先端位置」の選択が寸法ツールオプション内で出来るようにして下さい。
現状では矢印のスタイルで「●（矢印21）」などを使用した際に、寸法補助線に対して線の芯に「●」の中心が配置されず、2本の寸法補助線の内側に収まる形で表示されてしまいます。
【要望2】単位選択時に、「単位自体は表示させない」というチェック項目を付けてください。
通常長さの寸法を入れる図面では、1つ1つの寸法線に単位は記載しません。数字だけを記載します。
単位（㎜を使用するのかcmを使用するのかpxを使用するのか等）はアートボード全体で統一する為、1つ1つの寸法線に記載せず、1つのアートボードに対して「寸法の単位は㎜です」等を1カ所に記載する場合の方が多いです。
※ただし、直径（φ）・半径（R）・角度（°）の記号に関しては常時表示が必要です。【要望3】寸法線に対する数字の位置改善を希望します。
寸法線の数字は縦線に対して線の左横、横線に対して線の上に配置されるのが望ましいです。改善、または選択可能にしてください。
以上3点の機能改善を期待しています。

Allow For Time and Dates Values With Graphs Tools
Currently, Illustrator graphing tools only allow for using whole, decimal, and percentage number values for plotting data in the different graphs Illustrator can make.
I would like the option to also use date ranges and time value formats so that I could make dynamic graphs and charts that plot that type of data as well.

Allow to choose a reference point (pivot / origin) for live shapes
With a Line live shape we can set a length and an angle of the line, using Line Properties section in Transform panel (or Properties).
But there is no way to choose the position of the reference point, these apply always to the middle.
I want to be able to extend/contract or rotate a line from one of both ends.
Same applies to other live shapes, which gets transformed with the dedicated controls always from the center.

Image Trace like Vectorizer.AI does
Adobe, love all the new A.I. features but what I would really love in Illustration would be what Vectorizer.AI does. Forget live trace, give one click vectorizing, please! Like what Vectorizer.AI does but in Illustrator.
