  1. Allow me to change filename and file size dimensions with "Export as..." option

    I can no longer save my file with it's filename when exporting an artboard for client review. I would like to be able to have control over the naming of the file and the dimensions I export to (especially when building out billboard art files). If there was an option that showed file size and dimensions like in the previous "Save to Web" that would be optimal

  4. Customize Export Formats

    I use only two export formats on a regular basis. It would be nice if could disable the formats I don't use. It is cumbersome to have to scroll through all the formats every time I use them. In older AI versions, each format was like a plug-in file that could be removed if not being used. It would also be nice if individual formats could be assigned keyboard shortcuts.

  5. Asset Export: Name assets after the layer they're on

    When adding objects to Asset Export, there should be an option to name the assets after the layer they're on. This would be particularly helpful when there are a large number of assets.

  6. Views haven't updated in a while

    Views haven't updated in a while. I can't figure out why. can anyone help me? this process slows down my work so much.

    Save as the next number. So file 001 will save as file 002, etc.

  8. Remember last used SVG / SVGZ save and export settings (Responsive and others)

    We often need SVG and SVGZ that are NOT responsive to the web area (we need to control the viewable font size for psychometrics purposes).

    Illustrator default switches to Responsive being checked after every Illustrator restart. It would be great if every time I restart Illustrator the check box for "Responsive" remembered that I want it UNchecked (our workaround is to create a new SVGZ file immediately after every restart and uncheck the Responsive box, and if we don't remember to do that task our work must be tediously re-exported).

  9. Automatically update legacy format when saving...

    When working on an older version of illustrator - when you save, you get a notice about saving in a legacy format. I would like a preferences option to automatically save in the latest version when working on legacy files. Right now I have to use save as.

  10. Multiple recover file management

    AI feature that allows to save multiple recover files separately.
    (The user decides how many copies of recovery to have, could be a single one or many).
    for example, in case I want three copies of recovery that saves separately every X minutes.
    recover1 saves every 30 minutes
    recover2 saves every 10 minutes
    recover3 saves every 2 minutes
    This would help to recover previous versions of the same file.

    Additonally an option to save backups:
    Save a copy every X minutes.
    For example: Save a copy every 60 minutes.

  11. We need Watermark Panel

    I have suffered several times from clients who have steals my work and doesn’t pay the remaining 50% of the contract because it is a tedious job to make changes to a design and add, each time I need to export the artboard a watermark.

    It would be great to have a panel or a checkbox to apply a watermark to the entire artboard and that way we defend ourselves against bad clients easier.

    And if we can add our custom watermark, much better.

  12. SVG Import image X and Y positions are multiplied by 2

    If you open this SVG in Chrome, FF, Inkscape, etc, the rectangle and the 120.png image should be stacked on top of each other. However, in Illustrator CC (As of 09-23-2020) the image appears at 240x240 for the X/Y position instead of the defined 120x120. Appears to be this way only with the image tag. If you were to do a transformation matrix, it fixes the problem but still it should be imported properly into Illustrator.

  13. Export SVG without transforms for use with web / HTML / CSS / JS

    When will illustrator support options for exporting SVG without transforms?

    We have to manually calculate then set the x,y,width, height attributes on an svg element from a transform: matrix or other transforms.

    Attached image: I can't pull this into an html document and animate it because the inline transforms override the css transform I use to position or animate.

  16. Image export both type and art optimized

    For exporting web banners, my routine is to export one image art optimized and one image type optimized, aftwerwards stack them in Photoshop and unmask the type optimized version where text is visible.

    I would appreciate an option of "art and type" that automatically interprets the type as type and the images as images so that I can skip the whole process after the export.

  17. Export EPS with latex

    The open source Inkscape has the feature where you could edit any text as latex in the EPS-file after exporting it. This makes all scientists and other users of latex mega-happy. This is the easiest way to format the text to fit the latex document, and to add nice math writings to the figure in the blink of an eye, instead of the tedious work of writing the correct font and special math symbols in Illustrator.

    Could Ai please add the feature of generating something similar to what is documented here: http://tug.ctan.org/info/svg-inkscape/InkscapePDFLaTeX.pdf ?

    I believe this is easy and quickly…

  18. Exporting TIF with transparency

    Unless I've gone completely mad, I could swear there used to be the option to Export a file to TIF with transparency (a checkbox in the export settings). This no longer appears as an option. How does one export a transparent TIF these days??

  19. Make the Templates folder write enabled

    Can't save Template, due to permissions of the folder.
    Please make that work by default (MacOS Catalina).
