1. Magic Wand: Remember default values, restrict to active artboard, fine tune values, ...

   The magic wand seems to got old. It is missing so much functions.

   • Remember settings from previous sessions
   • Restrict selection to active artboards
   • Restrict selection to view

   • Restrict to main active layer

   • Add all the possibilities you can find under "select > same"

   • fine tune the values

   • explain the tolerance value (e.g. for fill colour)

   • add selections by tint, by hue, ...

3. Add an option for Offset Path command and effect to respect the direction and starting point of the original path

   Offset Path makes width and length of a rectangle to swap

   When applying Offset Path after making a rectangle, the size of width and length of the rectangle are changed into each other and the rectangle gets rotated 270 degrees even though real shape is not changed.
   It seems bug need to be fixed.

4. Non-Destructive Path Trim

   It would save me incredible amounts of time if I could simply--and non-destructively--trim a path.

   Example:
   I create a character's arm using a tapered stroke. I then duplicate that tapered stroke so that it can function as a shirt sleeve.
   <Here is where the issue comes in...>
   There's not a good way to trim that duplicated stroke to function as a sleeve. I can add points and delete the stroke, but the width won't match anymore. I can create a clipping mask, but it's a pain and makes adjusting the characters pose needlessly laborious.

   Being able to trim the path would make something like this MUCH less painful as there are fewer layers and points you need to mess with.

   Second example:
   I want the upper arm behind the character and the forearm in front. A trim paths would make this easy. You'd just duplicate the stroke, place one below the body and one above the body. Then you'd trim each to meet at the elbow.

   I hope that makes sense. If not, I can elaborate. Sometimes it's difficult for me to put words into a coherent sentence. :p

6. Set "Registration" (and/or other library color) to Dimension tool

   I would like the ability to set the size color in "Registration" on the lines and text. Unfortunately currently (version 28.1) it is possible to freely set the colors but it is not possible to set the Registration color or other colors present in the document samples. This would be very useful for me when printing color separations for different uses.

7. Progress bar for the new Smooth tool

   I love the new smooth tool! When it comes to contour lines in a map, It perform so much better than the simplify tool. The only problem is that when I smooth lines in large documents, Illustrator freezes but the cpu is on fire so I'm not sure if it's working or if Illustrator needs to be force quitted.

   Therefore I propose a progress bar for that tool which appears after one has moved the Smoothing slider.

9. Better implementation of Actions

   Do a better implementation of Actions. More like Photoshop.

   Some of the menu itens are not recorded in Actions, and others even with the Insert Menu item, still won't record the custom settings of it, and everytime you play that action, it will bring default values to it and open context menu to you to reenter parameters.
   This must be implemented correctly, direclty with the record and not that patch "Insert Menu Item" option that exist today.
   You should only hit record, do the menu options (even the Effects ones), and it must record it with all custom config you do, giving the option to edit the options on the action panel, but when you press play for that action, it should perform altomaticaly every step without interruptions (except when you choose it to).

   Please, make a proper full Action implementation in Illustrator.

10. Don't stop duplicating when ALT is released! Make modifier keys stick after dragging starts as they do in Photoshop

    When using Select and Direct Selection Tools, you can duplicate elements by holding ALT-key down.

    But if you release the ALT-key before you release the Mouse Button, the duplicating ceases . This differs from how most of the other applications behaves. For example in Photoshop, duplicating continues even if you release the ALT before you release mouse button.

    How this works in Illustrator leads often to situations where you think you have duplicated something, but you actually just moved it. And often I edit the element I thought I duplicated, and loose lot of work as it wasn't actually duplicated and I edited the original.

    Very Frustrating
    I can't believe how many this kind of little annoying things Illustrator has. Every time I have to use it, my day is ruined. This is one of those days. I can't understand how a developer with size and budget like Adobe can't get these fixed.

11. Color Picker digits round up

    Hi, I like Illustrator for many reasons, but I find one little thing is annoying. So often I need to prepare the design files for my printer. And because the color picker doesn't have the feature of auto rounding up the digits, the color I used always has decimals, instead of a rounded up number in CMYK mode. It is not easy for the printer to process these color data. I have to round up each color manually, which is time-consuming and I might miss some elements. So is it possible to have the color picker have an option of rounding up digital for the color it picked up? And in the Appearance panel, the color digits are always not the same as the color picker panels show, which has the decimal digits.

12. Jointures Multiples/Multiple Joins

    Je souhaiterai pouvoir sélectionner de multiples points avec l'outil sélection directe et que la commande joindre (Commande -J) fasse la jointure pour tous les couples de points ayant même abscisse et même ordonnée.
    Ce qui motive ma demande est que je récupère des fichiers générés par des sites web où chaque segment est isolé. C'est problématique soit pour ajouter un fond, soit pour avoir une découpe plus rapide et plus propre sur ma découpe laser. Avec des segments courts, le matériau n'a pas le temps de refroidir entre deux passes et fini par se consumer. Avec des tracés longs, la découpe reste propre malgré les passes multiples.

    What drives my request is that I recover files generated by websites where each segment is isolated. This is problematic either to add a background, or to have a faster and cleaner cutting on my laser cutting. With short segments, the material does not have time to cool between two passes and will eventually burn out. With long tracks, the cut remains clean despite multiple passes.

13. Keeping corner points while dragging an arc.

    When I have an arc that has a corner point at one end, dragging the arc changes the line to an unwanted shape even when "Constrain Path Dragging" is turned on in settings. I ALWAYS need those corner points to remain corner points.

    I suggest using the SHIFT key to keep them as corners.

    Many versions ago (late 80s, early 90s), corner points always remained corner points, and I liked it that way very much!! : ) It made my job so much easier. Since then paths have been a real hassle.

15. Straight lines with Eraser, Brush, Pencil tools

    Many users have been asking for this feature for a long time: draw a line between two points with the eraser freely, without it being at 45°.
    Why is that not possible? Like drawing with solid lines, without having to convert the contour line thickness (like the Blob Brush). Or constrain the brush as a spot between two precise places, which would amount to the same.

17. Color Theme tool like in InDesign

    Would love to see this implemented in Illustrator as I, like many others, like to import JPEGS or screen grabbed colour samples to take colors from it manually. It would be awesome to have a colour theme generated from those images that could work within Illustrator and then used across the adobe library. Also this might be something that could also allow you to select an artboard of choice and generate the top 5 colors of that illustration.

18. Mirror Buttons

    Mirror buttons (vertical and horizontal) directly on the control bar.
    Also, implement this feature in Photoshop.
    ...instead of "image/transform/flip..." overtime we need to mirror an image.

    In the symbol pallet you can select to sort symbols by name. It would be wonderful if this option was also available for your brush pallet.

20. Trim paths

    Like in After Effects the option to trim a line. When you have an extra line on an object, the one above can be trimmed. Ending with a line with two color ends.
    No more stacking multiple lines and having to edit them all if the shape changes.
