To make responsive resizing tool just as it is in Adobe XD
Making responsive resizing tool just as it is in Adobe XD would be very useful for all kinds of design and not just UI/UX design.

Move the "Merge Live Paint" button from the control panel to the Quick Actions section of the Properties panel
When you want to merge a new path with an existing live paint group and you select new shapes and the live paint group, the option to merge those shapes with the live paint group does not appear in the quick action section of the properties panel. I understand people may not want to do this but the new and more responsive context options that appear in quick actions are quite useful. I've steadily relied less and less on the control panel and now resort to the properties panel save this one function. Moving it down to quick actions when…

Hide Pie Widget
In the same way as we can hide the corner widget I'd really appreciate the ability to hide the pie widget (while still being able to see the bounding box) I've never used, but I often scale eclipses from the centre right anchor point. Which is impossible with the pie widget thing.
View > Hide Pie Widget.

Add checkbox to modify Magic Wand tool so you can select from "Active" or "All Artboards"
Selecting fills/strokes based on their colors is a great way to make changes quickly in Adobe Illustrator.
The issue with the Magic Wand tool is that it selects colors from ALL ARTBOARDS.
My request is to add a simple checkbox to give the Magic Wand tool the option to select just the "Active" artboard. By default it will select from "All" artboards.
Thank you!

move anchor points in opposite direction relative to the object’s center point
For years I have been hankering for a way to work with anchor points the same way as the width tool works or the option/alt modifier key works when resizing a shape with the selection tool.
When two anchor points are selected I want to be able to move those points in opposite directions. Either attract or repel.Imagine there is a straight line between the two selected anchor points, when one of the points is moved away from the other point (pressing the modifier key) the point that is selected but not dragged should move in the opposite direction.
5 votesThis is possible with Smart Guides and Scale tool, like it’s described in the comments.

Tools to edit paths to make straight lines, sharp corners, and smooth curves for faster vector trace clean up
Attached are three tool examples I would like implemented into Illustrator to speed up the process of cleaning up vector paths. A lot of times when you do a vector trace the corners of text or objects will not have a sharp point or areas with straight lines will become jagged or distorted. To clean these areas up requires a lot of single clicks on points and anchor points to get the right result. Implementing these types of tools into illustrator will allow for these changes in as little as three clicks vastly speeding up the process. On top of…

The "direct selection" tool should not move the whole object; only the "move tool" should do this; or it should be an option
While using the "Direct Selection Tool" it moves the whole object sometimes
Please make it an option to disable this feature.
It should only move the anchor point. Since the points are small and in a complex document it causes a lot of mistakes. I have to do undo may times to reverse this. There is "Move tool" That should only move the object. Sometimes It causes unintentional changes in the documents That I do not want to make. Please make this an option in the settings
Thank You!Regards,

Make it possible to select locked objects?
I wish it was possible to prevent an object from moving, but still have the ability to select it. A preference setting to "allow selection of locked objects" or "lock position only" or something?
5 votesThere is a way to select locked objects in recent Illustrator versions.
In Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display section toggle ‘Select and Unlock objects on canvas’ option to see small lock icons you can click when locked objects get into a selection marquee. -
Include warp envelope anchors and handles in preference setting
When using the warp tool and envelope distort, the anchors and handles are too small and difficult to target. I think it would make sense to have these obey the same preference as the general anchors and handles.

Edit multiple selected paths with Pencil tool.
This Illustrator feature has been lost since version CS5:
- Select multiple strokes
- Use Pencil tool to edit selected strokes.
In CS5 Illustrator understood the difference between "User-selected strokes" and "Newly created strokes" allowing users to fine-tune multiple paths with the Pencil tool without losing the selection. This feature has been lost, in ALL subsequent versions of Illustrator. What a loss!!

In Tablet Mode, we need the use of modifier keys like Shift, Alt, and Control. Can't constrain proportions when resizing w/out keyboard!
In Tablet Mode, we need the use of modifier keys like Shift, Alt, and Control. Right now, we can't constrain proportions when resizing w/out the Shift key on a keyboard. If we have a floating toolbar of modifier keys like Shift, that problem would be solved. Even better if a gesture could take the place of holding Shift.

Scale the space between objects
The ability to move objects in uniform space, similar to how the bounding box works when you select multiple objects and then scale them larger or smaller, if there was way that when you scaled the bounding box bigger the objects maintained their current size but moved farther from each other.
I notice there are times when I have objects on the page and I need to move them apart uniformly based on spacing or move them closer to each other.5 votes -
Keep object selected with switching from Shaper Tool to Smooth Tool.
It feels redundant to re-select object (line, shape, etc) when switching to or selecting the smooth tool. This is especially disruptive because you can't select the item when using the smooth tool. It doesn't seem to be consistent for other experiences in the program.
5 votesNot sure if I get it.
Are you sure you mean Shaper tool, not Shape Builder tool?
Because Shaper tool does not make a selection of the drawn shapes. Shaper Builder though — does.
How do you switch to the Smooth tool after using the other one?
By default Smooth tool is placed in the same tool slot as the Shaper (not Shape Builder), and once you click-and-hold the tool slot to access hidden Smooth tool — indeed, the selection gets dropped.
Can someone here record a short video of the issue?

Option to retract handles or leave in place when converting a curved anchor to a corner anchor
When changing a curved anchor to a corner, the handles retract. Would be nice if the handles did not retract, or if there was an option to choose retract or leave the handles where there are.

Symmetric Curve while using Pen Tool
As in Corel Draw if we are using a "Three point curve tool" we can make it a symmetric circular shape curve by simply pressing the shortcut "SHIFT" key.
I think it should be in illustrator with the pen tool. We could make it circular by pressing any shortcut key. as most of the time symmetric circular curves are required instead of simple smooth curves.5 votes -
Brushes: anomalous effects
Illustrator 2018 22.0.1
Steps taken: Applying a pattern brush to a stroke, and adding an extra stroke around that in the appearance panel.
Expected result: The stroke should only apply to the visible outline of the brush (see image), and no weird visual anomalies.
Actual result: The stroke applies to both the brush as expected, but also to the original path (which should be invisible). There are also some anomalous gaps between the component parts of the brush, which should not be there.
Furthermore, if you expand the brush you get a group containing the brush sub-paths (totally fine), but…

Add an Illustrator shortcut to resize my current tool
Please add an Illustrator shortcut to resize my current tool! In Photoshop, if you're on the brush tool, then hold down CTRL and OPT, you can drag up/down to resize the brush. That would be GREAT in Illustrator!

Custom Measured Units for Accurate Drawing
Today I zoom into the pixel level to draw 'in scale' - I would love the option to create custom units of measurement for my drawing and then have Snapping, Grids and Measuring Tools utilize them.
For instance, make a illustration of a floor plan at scale but decide on 50px = 1 virtual foot. I could label this 'Feet' and accurately size lines and objects using this increment of measurement.
Would be fantastic for my furniture and architecture sketching, as well as for many other hobbyists and professionals who know they get a more presentable result from Illustrator than…

Consider End handles
In illustrator we can to adjust start and end point handles in open path, but it have not much sense. What about to consider this handles to adjust shape of the object fill. Not on strait line like usual, but in way like we want. By the way, if we decide to close the path, Ai should make it in that way too.
So, we doesn't need two objects with stroke and shape separately, it will be one object with adjustable end handles.5 votes
