Option to assign chosen profile selection to all open documents in Missing Profile box
When opening a project, I frequently have to choose either not to colour manage or I have to assign a particular profile to the document due to working with a number of different print houses. As I can sometimes open 10-20 documents at a time to edit them, would it be possible to assign the designated choice to all open documents at the same time, i.e., have a selection box you can tick to 'Apply selected profile option to all open projects'?
Currently it is really laborious choosing the profile for each individual file as it opens.

Gradient Mesh Tool should have the ability to add a circular mesh within a circle.
Gradient Mesh tool should have the ability to add circular mesh lines within a circle. Currently if you have a circle, a new mesh line will only span from one edge of the circumference to another however it would be good to add a concentric circle in the circular mesh

OFFICIAL ONLINE USER MANUAL that we can easily search by tool or command name
We still need a forum for complex questions like ‘how to…’, but the current community is TERRIBLE at answering ‘what is’… You need to stop pushing this responsibility of explaining features to users and start making an OFFICIAL guide where we can easily search what each tool or action like 'expand appearance' actually mean and their nuances explained with pictures. Please make this ONLINE and always updated!!! Your old pdf manual actually does this quite well.
I am sick of watching outdated tutorials or WAITING for a response from users who might be equally outdated or not knowing what they're talking about!
You currently only have some explanation on hover for the basic tools but not for anything else. The tutorials in the community are so basic, but it takes forever just for me to find out what a simple command like 'object > expand' does in the community...
You should explain what every action means in your software, its nuances and limits, and why it grays out instead of making us guess or do testing!!!
If I just search ‘what does expand do?’ in the forum none will tell me right away what 'object > expand' does. I find i funny that if I google this your community posts never show up. It's always third party tutorial websites that come up and it’s usually a long read to find what a single command does... You’re lacking a ‘WHAT IS [command name /tool name]’ section which is really the basics of any appliance manual. If you have a button on a machine, you need to explain what each button means or does and not just how to do something with the machine…

Make an option to allow to transform (move / rotate / resize) a pattern within object without holding ` (backtick / grave / tilde) key
Newly redundant options in Transform menu
With the AI ver 27.5 update the "Transform Pattern Only" option does not work anymore in the Transform palette options menu.
It used to be that the pattern would move interactively within its container if it was dragged or rotated. Now the whole object moves. My small business works exclusively on pattern design and this happens on both our machines. (Win 10 and Win 11. Both i7 with 32gb) RAM).2 votes -
Find Replace dialog box to allow access to document for copy paste
When you open the find/replace dialog box you no longer have access to the document so you can copy text. So you have to copy text -> open find/replace box -> paste in find field and click done -> copy the text you want to replace with -> open the dialog box again to paste and then find/replace. In InDesign this is not the case

Add Color Mode "BITMAP" to TIFF Options in FILE->EXPORT->EXPORT AS
Add Color Mode "BITMAP" to TIFF Options in FILE->EXPORT->EXPORT AS
I regularly export high resolution ( 1440 dpi ) black and white tiff images from illustrator. Right now they must be exported as grayscale and then I have to open them in photoshop and convert them to 1 bit images and resave.

Connected Arabic letters 'break' on curves
Arabic text on curved paths tend to break, like in the example. The current work around is to either convert the text to outline and fix the breaks, or to create an art brush with the outlined text and adjust, again, manually.
Can this be fixed to allow the text to be on the curved, and editable.

"Soft Messages" interface in SDK, as alternative to modal dialogs
Can the SDK get an interface for Soft Messages like the "Shape Expanded" message that quietly appears at the top of the screen, then fades away on its own? Sometimes modal dialogs or even floating windows are just way too intrusive to simply pass a message on to the user.
I have managed to pretty much replicate this in one of my own plugins using annotations, but it would be much simpler if a few lines of code could allow any developer and any plugin to call a behavior that already exists in Illustrator.

Export for Screen Preset system is a FIASCO
As comments for this thread are closet, I start a new one.
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/32015539-custom-presets-for-asset-export-export-for-screeThis Preset thing is a disaster. It doesn't fix any issues I have with Export For Screens.
It doesn't save the Folder for the export. So I have to set it every time I open my document, as Illustrator set it to the same folder as where my AI document is. This was, and now still is, my major problem with Export for Screens.
Also, I have to select the Preset every time I open my AI file. The least I was hoping was that the settings would be saved on document basis.
Management of presets is terrible, as you can't edit those. And it is getting quite messy when you need just a little bit more presets.
It is impossible to export PNGs with both white and transparent background at same time, as that option is in PNG options, that will affect all the exported files. How can you make such a stupid system?
I waited years for this updated and now I'm very disappointed. It baffles me how the developers managed to deliver such a terrible solution for simple problems.
It seems that Illustrator developers are just incapable of understanding what users require. Possible solutions for these issues have been given many times in several threads.
How a developer size of Adobe can fail so majestically when trying to implement some basic functionality. What The F they are doing there? Do you have the slightest idea how your apps should work?
I sincerely hate Adobe.

Printing one artboard multiple times on one sheet
It would be very beneficial to have a feature that allows you to save a pdf with multiple copies of your artboard on one sheet with cut marks. Something similar to the attached screenshot (that was manually created).

Reduce the shortening / truncating of color swatch names when in list view
Remove the color type from the right column of the color swatch menu which would result in more space for the color name and ultimately less truncation of color names.
The color type; spot, process or global is already indicated by a dot or triangle on the thumbnail on the left. It doesnt need to be indicated again on the right. If this was eliminated, there would be more space for the color names.
The color mode isnt important. Book, cmyk or RGB - it doesnt matter to users when searching this list. RGB or CMYK is already apparent as is dictated by the document's color mode. Book colors are easily identified by the brand name in the color swatch name.If this was done, it would net twice as much space for the color names.
Overall, I rank this low priority, but much of AI's menus are inefficient and tend to clutter my workspace . Im constantly widening and narrowing this particular palette.
Perhaps this could be addressed as part of a global UI strategy in the multi-threaded future.Remove the color type from the right column of the color swatch menu which would result in more space for the color name and ultimately less truncation of color names.

set pdf content active as helpers/rules when imported
As it's convenient to keep links to reference file, it's sometimes mandatory to attach/align new shape to points/path of the imported shape.
but by default the pdf content is not "live". it would be valuable to have this content live as it's possible for Glyphs or symbols...

Export 3D elements with ALL of the faces separated.
Please give us the ability to export 3D elements created in Ai with ALL of the faces separately (bevels, extrusion, front/back), so that they can be colored or textured individually. It would be very valuable and save time to have this in one app, just as is/was in Ps. thank you!

Keep the organizational structure of Libraries the same between Adobe apps
I have put a lot of work organizing my libraries in Photoshop it would be nice if that organization structure would translate across all Adobe apps with libraries. Not have to organize my assets again in every program.

Buttons with Color background
We need all active Illustrator buttons with a blue color background like Illustrator on iPad. Sometimes it's hard to find black on a dark interface.

Can you add the option to make a multipage pdf from the variable dataset export? Needed for compatibility with printing software
Currently when exporting vardatasets, you get a single page pdf per dataset.
When making stickers some printing software cannot apply printing and contour cutting on multiple images.
I would be nice if the datasets can export a multipage pdf, or if an action can be made that creates artboards from datasets instead of exporting.2 votes -
Get rid of Tool Tips for known tools
Please add a X to the big distracting Tool Tips. Clicking the X should hide the tip for that specific tool.
This will keep the tips for less used tools, but gets rid of the annoying tips for tools that we are using for decades. It will personalize the help system.

Some way to control the mesh density of generated 3D objects?
I'm using Illustrator to turn some 2D drawings into 3D objects which I export as OBJ/GLTF to other software. The process is really quick and simple, and produces very smooth and clean mesh objects, however... I'm having trouble with the total lack of control over the geometry density/resolution of the generated 3D model.
I've experimented with increasing the number of anchor points and size of the drawing to see if I would get a 3D model made of more polygons and vertices, but had no success.
It would be amazing if there was a proper way to control the generated 3D mesh density. For instance, maybe a dropdown next to a Mesh Density input with a High, Medium and Low option (using the current built-in mesh density as a Medium position)? Use Typographer's Quotes should be more accessible
"Use Typographer's Quotes" should be added to the Character palette to make it more easily accessible. Sometimes I'm designing a document that uses typographer's quotes, but most of the time I work with documents that reference dimensions in feet and inches, so I need to be able to switch back and forth between typographer's quotes and straight quotes quickly.
In addition to that, "Use Typographer's Quotes" should be moved from File > Document Setup to Illustrator > Settings > Type to match the way Photoshop and InDesign do it.
The Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign teams (and probably others, but those are the three apps I use the most) should get together and decide if they want to use to word "Settings" or "Preferences" to describe the same thing. Apple recently changed from using "Preferences" to using "Settings", so that's probably the one to use, at least on macOS.
