    Illustrator changes text after modifying a text box with White Arrow tool. Its been happening for a few weeks. I work in a professional big corporate company and its changing my layouts after I am doing changes and it is really problematic.

    This needs fixing right away. In packaging if some text is changed after I make layout changes it can have serious legal ramifications.

  2. 文字パネル側の「フォント名を英語で表記」設定が正常動作していない

    Windows 11 25H2
    Illustrator 30.1

    文字パネルにある「フォント名を英語で表記」にチェックを入れても、すべてが英語名で表記されず、日本語のまま残る部分があります。
    この状態で環境設定を確認すると、同名の設定では設定がONになっています。

    環境設定で設定をONにした場合は正常に英語表記されます。
    （ただし文字パネルでONにした状態で、環境設定を開き、そのままOFF・ONにした場合だと変わらず）

    Windows 11 25H2
    Illustrator 30.1

    Even when checking “Display font names in English” in the Character panel, not all names are displayed in English; some remain in Japanese.
    Checking the preferences in this state shows the setting is ON for the corresponding option.

    If you turn the setting ON in the Preferences, it displays correctly in English.
    (However, if you have it ON in the Character panel, open the Preferences, and then toggle it OFF and back ON, it remains unchanged.)

  3. Moving several points of an area type or type on path causes "undo"

    I am no longer able to move multiple anchor points for text on a path in v30 (GPU mode).
    I'm using a Studio M2 Max with MacOS 15.5..

    The attached video demonstrates this behavior. I have two duplicate paths. While using "View using GPU" I try to edit multiple nodes on the text path. What happens is:

    1. the preview of the path disappears while I'm trying to move the nodes.
    2. the entire line moves, even though I've only selected a few nodes.
    3. my type was replaced with the "Lorem Ipsum" text (this happens intermittently, not every time).

  4. Em dash incorrectly rotates upright in vertical text layout

    Illustrator 2025 (29.8.1) (29.8.2) Japanese

    Em dashes are Latin characters, so in vertical text layout they should be rotated sideways like other alphanumeric characters.
    However, in v29.8.2, Em dashes are rotated upright like Japanese characters. This is clearly a bug.

    EMダッシュは欧文の文字なので、縦組みでは他の英数字を同じく横倒しになります。
    しかし、v29.8.2では、和文の文字のように正立回転してしまいます。これは明らかにバグです。

  5. New fonts don't load upon installation

    Somehow, the new Adobe Illustrator updates prevent manually installed fonts from loading. These are fonts that aren't available in Adobe Fonts. So I have to install them manually. Because of this, I have to restart Illustrator so I can use the font. There's no problem when activating fonts on Adobe Fonts. Is there a workaround for this?

  6. Illustrator最新版で A-OTF フォントが使用できない件について

    お世話になっております。

    現在、以下の環境で A-OTF フォントが Illustrator で使用できない 不具合が発生しております。

    環境

    macOS：15.6.1（Sequoia）

    Adobe Illustrator：最新版（28.x）

    Morisawa Fonts アプリ：最新版を使用

    フォント例：A-OTF ゴシックMB101 Pr5

    症状

    Illustrator のフォント一覧には A-OTF フォントが表示されるが、選択すると代替フォントに置き換わり使用できない。

    Photoshop など他の Adobe アプリ（Photoshop、InDesign）では同じフォントを正常に使用可能。

    Morisawa Fonts アプリ上では該当フォントはアクティブ化されている。

    実施済み対策

    Illustrator のアンインストール／クリーンインストール

    環境設定・キャッシュの削除

    Morisawa Fonts アプリの再インストール、ログイン／再アクティブ化

    macOS 再起動

    上記すべてを実施しても改善せず

    特記事項

    Illustratorを一つ古いバージョン（27.x）に戻したところ、問題なくフォントを使用できた。

    よって、最新版 Illustrator（28.x）と macOS 15.6.1 環境における A-OTF フォントの不具合である可能性が高いと考えられる。

  7. Morisawa Fontsの和文バリアブルフォントDriveFluxが使えない

    いつのバージョンからかMorisawa Fontsの和文バリアブルフォントDriveFluxが急に使えなくなりました。macOS 15.6、Illustrator 2024 29.7.1を使用しています。2024の最初の方は使えてたんですが、どこかのマイナーバージョンアップで急に表示されなくなってしまいました。2025でも使えません。モリサワに相談したところ「こちらではどうしようもないのでAdobeさんに相談してください」とのことでした。ちなみにMonotypeの和文バリアブルフォントは問題ありません。ご対応お願いします。

    最新の30.3一般リリースで修正されたとのことです。アップデートしてフォントが正しく表示されるか確認し、問題がまだ発生する場合はコメントでお知らせください。

  8. Font styles applied to portions of text 'slide' / shift positions when area type overflows

    Illustrator 29.7.1 on Mac Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91)

    I dont' know whether it's related to this current issue, but now I have parts of my text that change appearance when I'm trying to change the Font weight of another part, or when I try to type more text.

    The workaround I have found it copy-pasting the text into a new Textbox. But still, this needs to be fixed.

  9. HEX Franklin Variable Font is Not Visible when Editing

    I am on a Mac running Illustrator 29.4. I am trying to use the variable OTF version of HEX Franklin, and all Adobe apps do not render the letterforms. When I try to select the variable font in the dropdown, it just defaults back to Myriad or the default typeface.

    Other variable fonts work as intended, but specifically, this one is broken. Any possible fix?

  10. We request that function key conversion be re-enabled for Japanese input.

    Due to the latest update release, the conversion shortcuts using function keys during Japanese input have become unavailable. Please restore them so they can be used again.

    Conversion shortcut details:
    F6 → Hiragana
    F7 → Katakana
    F8 → Half-width Roman characters
    F9 → Full-width Roman characters

    In Japan, conversion shortcuts using function keys are commonly used.
    Previously, I could use those keys for Japanese input conversion without having to delete the corresponding Illustrator shortcut settings. However, in the latest version, even deleting the settings doesn't work, which is inconvenient.

  11. 縦組みのエリア内文字のスレッドテキストオプション作成が正常に機能しない

    macOS 14.7.2
    Illustrator ver.29.1

    Step to reproduce
    1.縦組みのエリア内文字を作成する
    2.矩形ツールで矩形を描く
    3.エリア内文字と矩形を選択してメニュー「書式→スレッドテキストオプション→作成」を選択する。
    4.矩形が縦組みエリア内文字に変換されるが、スレッドテキストにはならずエリア内文字のコンテンツがコピーされた状態になる。

    期待する動作
    矩形がスレッドテキストとして正常にリンクされる。

    実際の結果
    スレッドテキスト→作成を実行してもスレッドテキストとならずコンテンツの状態もおかしい。

    回避策
    Tツールを使って手動でスレッドテキストをリンクさせる。

    縦組みに対するスレッドテキストオプションの挙動は全般おかしく、エリア内文字や矩形の構成や状態によって挙動が異なる場合がありますが、全般的に意図した通りに動作しない。
    また、おかしくなったエリア内テキストを手動でリンクさせようとするとIllustratorがクラッシュします。

  12. Braille fonts are displaying incorrectly after latest update (29.1)

    After doing the latest update, one particular font I use is displaying at a different spacing to what it was in the previous versions of illustrator and is incorrect.

    Its a slight difference but I deal with braille on medicine so this is required to be very accurate. I have attached an example but am unable to upload the font, which is a unique braille font for our company.

    I have gone back to the previous version of Illustrator for now to resolve this.

  13. テキスト右揃え不具合

    OS / Windows 11 Home 23H2
    Illustrator 2025（バージョン 29.1）

    右揃えテキスト中に四分アキ等の文字が含まれ、アキの設定を自動の場合、テキスト右端がズレます。
    自動設定ではなく、「アキなし」や個別にアキ量を「二分アキ」等に指定するとこの問題は解消されます。

  15. 特定のテキスト状態のファイルを開くと旧バージョンで保存されたファイルと誤検知される

    Windows11（macOSでも発生すると思われる）
    Illustrator ver.29.0

    再現手順
    １．新規ドキュメントを作成し文字ツールでポイントテキストを入力する。
    ２．１行目を36pt、２行目を10ptで指定する。
    ３．Illustrator2020形式でファイルを保存して閉じる。
    ４．保存したファイルを開くと「このファイルには旧バージョンのIllustratorで作成されたテキストが含まれます……」のダイアログが表示される。変更を確認しても文字のずれなどは見受けられない。

    期待する結果
    ver.29で保存したドキュメントを開く時にダイアログが表示されない。

    実際の結果
    特定のテキスト構成にて旧バージョンで作成されたドキュメントと正確でないダイアログが表示される。
    おそらく誤検知だと思われます。

  16. Smart Quotes not working properly

    If deselected “Smart Quotes (“‘)“ , upon keying in a prime (') or double prime (") AI still convert the primes to quotes. My work needs to communicate dimensions (eg, 5'–6" × 2'–0") and with First Nation orthographies Mi'kmaw First Nation that require access to these standard characters. This needs to be fixed.

  17. Pasting text within text box changes formatting to neighboring type

    I am trying to cut and paste type within an area type box. I have the type formatted with mixed attributes. But when I paste the type in its new location all formatting is lost and it assumes the format of the type next to where I paste it.

  18. Incomplete Bug Fix on Legacy Text Disappearing in v28

    Illustrator CC 2018.(No problem before 2017)
    Updated text disappears when opening a file of old data such as version 10 or lower by a specific operation and updating the text portion.

    ・Prepare and open files of version 10 or lower
    ・To confirm whether to update the legacy text on the warning screen, click [OK] to not update
    ・Save immediately
    ・Open the saved file
    ・Click on the legacy text part with the mouse
    ・On the warning screen, click [Update]
    → The text that should have been updated disappears

  19. Type on path not converting to outline

    Operating System: OS X Ventura 13.4.1 (c) (22F770820d)
    Version of Illustrator: 27.7

    I have an artwork which includes some type on a path (circle). When I go to send the file to a printer (PDF), I always outline the text as we've had issues in the past. For this artwork I've selected all the content and selected 'Convert to Outline', which has worked fine on all the type except the type on a path elements which just disappeared. I restarted Illustrator, but this didn't solve the problem.

  20. Words get broken when hyphenation is off with no hyphens

    Illustrator (since a long ago) has a habit of breaking words in area type texts when it should not. Take a look at the test file and watch the attached GIF.

    As you can see, the second word is a long one, and Ai for some reason breaks it — although Hyphenate is off (and the language is properly chosen).

    No hyphen also is displayed at the end of the line, the word is just split.

    If we toggle the Composer from Single-Line to Every-Line, Ai at first correct the tracking and fits the word... but once the container is…

    Claimed to be fixed in the latest 30.3 general release.

    The original report had a singular Latin 'o' mixed into the Cyrillic text, and this makes it break without a hyphen.

    The font team notifies that Unicode standart prescribes to not break between two scripts that use spaces as word breaks, so this problem can fixed sometimes later, when the team revises their reflow strategy.

    As for now, be notified it’s a very narrow case, and is a good sign that your text has homoglyphs in it.

    Please update and check if Ai now handles mixed cases with hyphens in their proper places.
