2. Paragraph style tab numeric measure is wrong

   v22.1/23/0.1
   Windows 10

   Both v22.1 and 23.0.1 show the wrong numeric 'X' measure when setting or adjusting a tab stop in a paragraph style. The measure shown is inflated both according to the ruler below the tab stop, and tabs set using the tab window. The numeric measure is inflated by an increasing amount the further the tab is from the left margin, and remains inflated whether units are set to mm or inches.
   eg. 20mm tab stop shows as 29.8mm in the paragraph style dialog

   The issue is no longer a problem in the latest versions of Illustrator.

3. Smart guides not working on Text Area boxes

   Mac OS 10.11.6 El Capitan (and also Windows 10)
   Illustrator CC 2018

   Hi!
   I have a problem with the latest version of Illustrator (I just upgraded from CS6):
   Smart Guides do not appear on Text Area boxes (corners or sides), for example when I want to draw a line with the pen from one corner of a box to a corner of another box).
   They do appear normally on other objects.

   Snap to Grid and Snap to Pixel are off. Snap to Point is on, but the problem is the same when off.

   Is anyone experiencing the same? Is there a Preference I missed?

   (it's hard to show the problem on a picture, as the screen capture hides the mouse cursor, but here's one of the Smart Guides working when I MouseOver another object's anchor point)

   Doesn’t happen anymore with recent builds of Illustrator

4. Moving several points of an area type or type on path causes "undo"

   I am no longer able to move multiple anchor points for text on a path in v30 (GPU mode).
   I'm using a Studio M2 Max with MacOS 15.5..

   The attached video demonstrates this behavior. I have two duplicate paths. While using "View using GPU" I try to edit multiple nodes on the text path. What happens is:

   1. the preview of the path disappears while I'm trying to move the nodes.
   2. the entire line moves, even though I've only selected a few nodes.
   3. my type was replaced with the "Lorem Ipsum" text (this happens intermittently, not every time).

   But, when I switch to "View using CPU" the program functions normally.

   This is something I do very frequently, and I typically have GPU mode on, so this is a new behavior.

   I tested this on other installed versions of Illustrator:

   On v29.8.2 I am able to move multiple nodes, but the preview of the path still disappears while you're moving it. Switching to CPU mode corrects that.

   On v.28.7.2 Everything works normally, both in GPU and CPU modes.

   ---

   Edit: After posting this, I now believe that this might be related to the setting "Real-Time Drawing and Editing". Turning that off "seems" to fix things (for both v30 and v29).

   But it should be noted, in 28.7.2 I CAN keep "Real-Time Drawing and Editing" enabled AND use GPU mode and everything functions fine.

   I am no longer able to move multiple anchor points for text on a path in v30 (GPU mode).

5. HEX Franklin Variable Font is Not Visible when Editing

   I am on a Mac running Illustrator 29.4. I am trying to use the variable OTF version of HEX Franklin, and all Adobe apps do not render the letterforms. When I try to select the variable font in the dropdown, it just defaults back to Myriad or the default typeface.

   Other variable fonts work as intended, but specifically, this one is broken. Any possible fix?

6. Textframe bugs out, and won't change color. Had to make new text boxes

   Found a bug where a specific text box will NOT ovewrite the color of the text. I tried deleting paragraph styles, making new paragraph styles with different color, character styles and eyedropper tool. I can change weight, italics etc but the color would NOT change, despite the changes appearing in the appearance panels and other areas. Fixed by making new text boxes and moving the copy to those, but an annoying bug for sure.

7. Text copied from Illustrator and pasted into Word, Keynote and other editors appears as image and not editable text

   Illustrator CC 22.1.
   Mack book pro MacOS high Sierra Version10.13.6.
   Microsoft Word Version16.23 (190309)

   Copy text from illustrator (Command C) and paste it into Word (Command V) using shortcuts on keyboard the text does not come in to word as editable text but as a picture that I cannot edit.

   I copy text from illustrator and past it into Word for editing and then past it back into Illustrator when I am done with the word editing. I do this for technical drawings, sketchbooks and any other 2D design and presentation work.
   Since 2011 until 2018 I was able to use my keyboard shortcuts to copy text from Illustrator and paste it into Word for editing and refining. This is a proses I do numerus times a day (sometimes hundreds) as this is part of my main workload. Like I said this used to work fine for many years. Since 2018 I have not been able to paste text into Word using the Command V shortcut. Since then the text gets pasted into Word as a picture that I cannot edit.
   I know it is possible to past the text into word by using the “paste” drop down menu and select Keep text only, but this is cumbersome and disrupts my workflow. I would like to use the keyboard shortcut (Command V) to past into word.
   Copying from word and pasting it back to Illustrator is no problem.

   Idea: make it possible to use shortcuts on keyboard to paste into word and it pastes as editable tex (Like I was Able to do before for many years)

   Illustrator CC 22.1.

   If you right click in word you should get a paste as text option.
   Can you please contact Microsoft support. Like most applications we do promise text in clipboard along with other formats like svg, metafile etc…
   It is for word to pick any of these clipboard formats and consume.

8. Text always shows as black

   Sometimes, when I apply color to a text box (using the swatches or the eyedropper) the color shown on screen is black even though in the Appearance panel the Fill is the one I applied.

   Hi,

   The attached screenshot displays the FILL color underneath the CHARACTERS in the APPEARANCE panel therefore any change applied to the FILL will not be displayed, to display it correctly please move the FILL color row on top of the CHARACTER row (Click & Drag) in the Appearance panel.

   Hope this helps to resolve this issue.

   お世話になっております。

   現在、以下の環境で A-OTF フォントが Illustrator で使用できない 不具合が発生しております。

   環境

   macOS：15.6.1（Sequoia）

   Adobe Illustrator：最新版（28.x）

   Morisawa Fonts アプリ：最新版を使用

   フォント例：A-OTF ゴシックMB101 Pr5

   症状

   Illustrator のフォント一覧には A-OTF フォントが表示されるが、選択すると代替フォントに置き換わり使用できない。

   Photoshop など他の Adobe アプリ（Photoshop、InDesign）では同じフォントを正常に使用可能。

   Morisawa Fonts アプリ上では該当フォントはアクティブ化されている。

   実施済み対策

   Illustrator のアンインストール／クリーンインストール

   環境設定・キャッシュの削除

   Morisawa Fonts アプリの再インストール、ログイン／再アクティブ化

   macOS 再起動

   上記すべてを実施しても改善せず

   特記事項

   Illustratorを一つ古いバージョン（27.x）に戻したところ、問題なくフォントを使用できた。

   よって、最新版 Illustrator（28.x）と macOS 15.6.1 環境における A-OTF フォントの不具合である可能性が高いと考えられる。

   ご確認いただきたいこと

   Illustrator最新版と macOS 15.6.1 環境での A-OTF フォント非対応／不具合について既知の情報があるか

   修正版のリリース予定があるか

   回避策があればご教示いただきたい

10. Type on a path tool resizing causes crash

    I have the latest version of Illustrator CC 2020 v. 24.0.3. Unfortunately, everytime I try to resize a type on path, Illustrator crashes. I have restarted the app and system and that didn't help.

11. Illustrator changes text after modifying a text box with White Arrow tool

    Illustrator changes text after modifying a text box with White Arrow tool. Its been happening for a few weeks. I work in a professional big corporate company and its changing my layouts after I am doing changes and it is really problematic.

    This needs fixing right away. In packaging if some text is changed after I make layout changes it can have serious legal ramifications.

12. 文字パネル側の「フォント名を英語で表記」設定が正常動作していない

    Windows 11 25H2
    Illustrator 30.1

    文字パネルにある「フォント名を英語で表記」にチェックを入れても、すべてが英語名で表記されず、日本語のまま残る部分があります。
    この状態で環境設定を確認すると、同名の設定では設定がONになっています。

    環境設定で設定をONにした場合は正常に英語表記されます。
    （ただし文字パネルでONにした状態で、環境設定を開き、そのままOFF・ONにした場合だと変わらず）

    Even when checking “Display font names in English” in the Character panel, not all names are displayed in English; some remain in Japanese.
    Checking the preferences in this state shows the setting is ON for the corresponding option.

    If you turn the setting ON in the Preferences, it displays correctly in English.
    (However, if you have it ON in the Character panel, open the Preferences, and then toggle it OFF and back ON, it remains unchanged.)

13. Pasting text within text box changes formatting to neighboring type

    I am trying to cut and paste type within an area type box. I have the type formatted with mixed attributes. But when I paste the type in its new location all formatting is lost and it assumes the format of the type next to where I paste it.

    This can happen if the 'Paste text without formatting' option is toggled in Preferences > Clipboard Handling. This would cause Ai to paste text with no formatting, adapting it from the target text.

14. Type on path not converting to outline

    Operating System: OS X Ventura 13.4.1 (c) (22F770820d)
    Version of Illustrator: 27.7

    I have an artwork which includes some type on a path (circle). When I go to send the file to a printer (PDF), I always outline the text as we've had issues in the past. For this artwork I've selected all the content and selected 'Convert to Outline', which has worked fine on all the type except the type on a path elements which just disappeared. I restarted Illustrator, but this didn't solve the problem.

    The Type on a Path was part of a group, so I then drilled down to an element level and tried each part in turn. It was a bit random, one part would outline, while othesr just disappeared again. The font being used was Knockout by Hoefler&Co.

    After a few attempts I managed to get some parts to outline while others continued to disappear so I had to make up a new group using those paths that did outline properly.

    I've never experienced this bug before, so perhaps it's something new?

15. 文字組みアキ量設定の読み込みで名称に「コピー」が付与される

    Illustrator Ver.26.0.2の、文字組みアキ量設定の読み込みに関する不具合です。

    1. 任意名称で文字組みアキ量設定を作成する
    2. 書き出しを使ってmjkファイルを書き出す
    3. 2のファイルを別のファイルで読み込みする

    この結果として、元の名称のまま読み込まれるのではなく、「●● コピー」（●●は元名称）と、必ず「コピー」が付きます。

    Windows 11および、macOS 12.1環境いずれでも発生する問題となっています。

16. Type on path tool, cannot flip to inside the path

    MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019) macOS Big Sur v. 11.2.3, 32mg memory, 2.3GHz 8-core Intel Core i9, Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

    Created a circle, attempting to use type on path tool, works find to place type outside circle, cannot drag the type inside the circle to be at the bottom. Shows there when I click and drag but when I release it places the text on the outside of the circle in a different location.

17. Font menu in the context menu won’t show

    My font list has started to not show. I'm not sure what is causing it as it was ok then suddenly it stopped showing. Please see the attached file for more.

    いつのバージョンからかMorisawa Fontsの和文バリアブルフォントDriveFluxが急に使えなくなりました。macOS 15.6、Illustrator 2024 29.7.1を使用しています。2024の最初の方は使えてたんですが、どこかのマイナーバージョンアップで急に表示されなくなってしまいました。2025でも使えません。モリサワに相談したところ「こちらではどうしようもないのでAdobeさんに相談してください」とのことでした。ちなみにMonotypeの和文バリアブルフォントは問題ありません。ご対応お願いします。

    最新の30.3一般リリースで修正されたとのことです。アップデートしてフォントが正しく表示されるか確認し、問題がまだ発生する場合はコメントでお知らせください。

    
    

    Claimed to be fixed in the latest 30.3 general release. Please update, check if the font now works properly, and comment back if it still happens.

19. Braille fonts are displaying incorrectly after latest update (29.1)

    After doing the latest update, one particular font I use is displaying at a different spacing to what it was in the previous versions of illustrator and is incorrect.

    Its a slight difference but I deal with braille on medicine so this is required to be very accurate. I have attached an example but am unable to upload the font, which is a unique braille font for our company.

    I have gone back to the previous version of Illustrator for now to resolve this.

    The issue was resolved by the user with updating the font

20. Smart Quotes not working properly

    If deselected “Smart Quotes (“‘)“ , upon keying in a prime (') or double prime (") AI still convert the primes to quotes. My work needs to communicate dimensions (eg, 5'–6" × 2'–0") and with First Nation orthographies Mi'kmaw First Nation that require access to these standard characters. This needs to be fixed.

    This got solved by disabling 'Use Typographer’s Quotes' option in Document Setup > Type.
