Type on Path moving around places whenever opening the file again
I’ve come to a constant problem with type on path. Whenever I open my project and then preview it again, the type on path moves away from its original place. It gets annoying whenever I have to move it every time I see this problem. It always changes.

Tasha Chenard commented I am also having this problem April 2024. This is incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. Every time I open my file I have to rebuild and this is taking up valuable time and waisting my time and client work is take much longer then it should be. This is not an issue I should be loosing money on. Beyond frustrating.

Axel Site commented Same problem still. Why aren’t they fixing this? Illustrator is such a awesome program but glitches are here and there.

commentedI have the same problem. I spent all this time making a label for my packaging and now I am stuck. I saved my file, came back a moment later, the thumbnail looked great. I opened the file and all the text went haywire. I closed file. The thumb looks great. Opened it, the text is upside down and sideways. I closed app and reopened, same thing repeatedly only sometimes instead of sideways and upside down it is a completely different font. It’s a now a big blocky font and it doesn’t fit so all the letters are overlapping in colored squares. It did that twice. I tried copying the text and pasting into different file that didn’t help. I tried duplicating the file and then editing the text. I tried to move the sliders to put the back where it was supposed to be and it won’t work. It’s constantly changing, and then I undo undo, undo back to the beginning now it’s in a completely different place. The top text is inside the bottom text. Something is always upside down. There is no way to fix it. I mean, dragging the sliders, is making it do bizarre things. It’s not supposed to do this, and I am no newbie. I’ve been using illustrator for…well since it was Macromedia Freehand. I’ve been doing this a really long time. Clearly text on a path is not working on the iPad and hasn’t been for a few years and it’s not just for me. I have seen this same question posted other places for like two years now with no solution posted yet. Please fix it.

commentedI'm new to iPad. I've have used illustrator since before Adobe bought it and tried to rename it. This 11/21 bug Still Exists in 1/24? I think Phil B is right. It doesn't look good. After all of these years. Shame on you Adobe .

commentedOn May 16, 2022 - this issue is still present in Illustrator on the iPad. When I open/close a document or copy and paste type on a path objects to another layer, the settings change and the type repositions.
