iPad crashes when I hover over menu for font…

For some reason every time I use illustrator and I click the tools using the Apple Pencil the app crashes everytime

Another thing is that while turning off hover does make the app usable. Using the official magic keyboard trackpad will cause it to crash which never happened before. Keep working on those updates guys, I believe in ya’ll!

Thank you for this solution. From a quick test I just did, after turning off the setting, that did work. But this isn’t a sustainable long term solution as the hover feature is a big feature to many of us in our usability of our ipad’s. We shouldn’t have to turn off a feature entirely across our whole device to make one app work properly.

Ive noticed the crashes stop when turning off hover. However there are still instances where app freezes or doesnt save in both ai and ps.

I am experiencing the same issue. It’s terrible. Using IPad m2 and Apple Pencil gen 2. As soon as I hover the Apple Pencil over the tools panel, the app crashes. Then it happened once just bringing the Apple Pencil near the screen. Then again when moving an object while working on a file. This is making the app practically unusable at the moment. This needs to be fixed asap!

Clicking through the UI works just fine when I tap with my finger but the moment I bring my Apple Pencil near the screen it crashes the app. I'm using the latest iPad OS update on the M2 iPad Pro. My gut tells the me "hover" feature that was added might be causing the problem.

Tengo malas noticias: lamento decir que este problema no se soluciona solamente desactivando esa función.
Si tienes un teclado original de Apple para el iPad Pro, y lo conectas cuando abres Illustrador te sucede el mismo problema.
Así que tenemos varios detalles que deben corregirse.

App and iPad are up to date. App has been uninstalled and reinstalled and iPad has been restarted. App opens fine but once a project is opened the app crashes as soon as I interact with it. With new and existing projects. iPad Pro (11-inch) (2nd generation) iOS 17.1.1

My issue was combined with this one. However illustrator still crashes when creating a document. I have tried changing the setting and also completely disconnected the Apple Pencil and connected it to my other device. Still crashes.

I am happy to report the original issue i reported is no longer occurring after my iPad Pro updated to 17.1.1

Hi Adobe, after installing iOS 17.1 my adobe illustrator on the iPad keeps crashing.
This only occurs after I open a document. I can use my fingers but when using the Apple Pencil it crashes instantly. Selecting an tool like layers or the pen tool also crashes the app..
what to do?, please advice!

When I use Apple Pencil to click on toolbar or the bar on the right, Illustrator turns off. When I use my hand it is okay, there is some problem with using Apple Pencil in this app. Please fix it, because When it turns off my file is lost.
