Recolor now can be used for Freeform gradients correctly, allowing access to all colors used in it.

Yes, the Recolor dialog does not have its own undo stack, and all changes are permanent. Since Recolor is often used as an experimentation tool, this behavior limits the freedom and forces users to avoid it and loose applied settings.
The team is now aware of the situation and hopefully some changes will be made.

Hi Everyone,
This functionality is available in our latest release build – 27.6.1.
Hex code for the colors is visible in the Color and Swatch Option Panel. It will be visible for Global Colors as well. You can easily copy the Hex value by clicking on '#' icon before the code.

Yes! I love this idea, I'm accidentally adding strokes or fills to objects that don't need them because I didn't check whether stroke or fill is fronted in the tool bar. And if the item already has both a stroke and fill, then you don't have switch anything.
