   Live preview of color is now live in Illustrator 27.1.1, for Color Picker dialog, Color panel, Properties and Control panel, and Appearance panel.

    Yes, I want the original pattern to stay live within the second pattern. Same thing with object filled with *.tiff or *.bmp as a pattern.

    Auto-expand might be ok but sometimes the patterns can be complex and heavy. Not sure if it will be efficient.
