Color Picker live preview!
When i choose color with color picker there is no live preview. I have to click OK to view selected color and if I don't like it, have to do all this again. Do it as it is in Photoshop.
Live preview of color is now live in Illustrator 27.1.1, for Color Picker dialog, Color panel, Properties and Control panel, and Appearance panel.
It works in GPU mode only.

Live Preview in Color Picker seems to stop working.

Please also stop suppressing tools into junk drawers. How stupid is this that the eye dropper + 20 or so other commonly used tools are in a menu item with three dots "...". Are you guys drinking on the job or just doing this as a UX prank on long time users of the software?

When, Adobe?

A live preview in the Color Picker would really speed up my work flow.

When an object is selected, and it's color is double clicked, a colour picker appear to change the color. Unfortunately, the color change is not interactive, it is not updating the color selected object, and therefor less usefull as a design tool. Pleaes add the possibility to Preview in context.

There are some glaring flaws in Illustrator and how it deals with colour management. This is one that should be fixed ASAP.

Please Adobe Team, give high priority to this! It's really slow and painful to not have this live preview and not normal for 2021 drawing software.

This is plain foolishness that this was overlooked and remains this way. This literally makes the program unusable. Onto something else.

Still can't believe that the color picker does not update the color of the selected objects. Adding that will make it a usefull design tool.

there is no consistency in Illustrator at all. The intuition of working in Adobe Illustrator is Alice's trip to Wonderland, but certainly not fast and intuitive and CREATIVE work.

Exactly. I have been working on this tool for 15 years. Hundreds of hours and work done. I TOTALLY AGREE.I have posts from 10 years ago on the Forum about amendments that have not been implemented until today.
I have posts from 10 years ago on the Forum about fixes that have not been implemented until today, but are standard in other new competing applications. They are pure but not for the Illustartor team.
Adobe Illustrator has a lot of interesting tools, but UX Illustrator is the muddiness of using tools and achieving success - the times when you created one graphic per week for the newspaper,
Wrrrrrr.

Again, this should be already implemented - not just via a swatch panel - the colour picker!

Why is this not already implemented?

Illustrator is really the worse of all the Adobe apps. Like its been said before, its completely bloated and build on 90ies legacy code. The simplest tasks are only achieved with complex procedures (try using re-color - what a nightmare). It would need some courageous decisions in Adobe to build Illustrator from the ground up with intuitive UI and simple engine that we expect in the 21st century. Instead we have to fight with product management to get the most basic features (like ruler always on and live color picker) implemented. I think this is not a problem of capability but of will. Adobe just isn't interested in catering to the creative community any longer (except maybe Photoshop, where there is still a very good income and share-holder value). I have given up on Illustrator. I only still have it installed to work with older client files, but all new files are created in a new app (which out of courtesy I will not mention here, but I think most of you know which one I mean). It is reminiscent of an age where Xerox was still holding on to copy machines not seeing the personal computing revolution. Adobe, how blind have you become?

Don't waste time asking Illustrator for common sense in XXI Century usability standards. It's a 90's thing bloated with dozens of insane and absurd tools that only adds frustration.
Just today I've been working with this 3D grid thing over a simple logo, because I've activated inadvertently, and I've been unable to close it, even clicking compulsively the "close" minibutton.
Illustrator will die slowly, and maybe, Adobe will surprise us in the future with a new design tool, build from zero, thinking in the nowadays designers.

Live colour preview.
Basic colour theory tells us that colours are affected by the colours around it.
If you can't see the changes in situ it ends up being trial and error.
Not what you'd expect to have to endure in an expensive professional program. -

It's just stupid that this isn't already implemented years ago.
