An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, I can confirm that.
Even adding extra points for the arc does not help...When it happens, I use plugin tools to workaround this (Path Intersections from AstuteGraphics), but this is not a perfect way.

Can you please record a short video of you trying?
Please include Fill/Stroke indicator, the object that refuses to have the color, Color Guide and Appearance panels in view. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Mika, do you send you crash reports to Adobe?
If you don’t, than the team knows nothing about your crashes at all.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, this option is designed for those who wants later 'open' PDF and edit them in Illustrator. Quite a lot of users find this very handy and surely will suffer if this 'mostly useless' workflow gets cut.
Yes, for both 'AI in PDF' or 'PDF in AI' the time taken is larger, depending on the number of artboards used.
Yes, CPU is barely used and this is not a CPU problem at all, but the 30-years old legacy format and a stream of data that has to be written. Some changes get made, especially for cloud docs, but legacy is legacy, and compatibility is something that has to stay.
So uncheck the compatibility option if you don't plan to re-edit your PDFs, and hope for the better with us.
Voted for the 'optimize' part :) -

An error occurred while saving the comment Oh, Jean Carlos, what a peculiar bug. Can you share that specific file here? Sure the 3D team would love to see what causes the bug.

An error occurred while saving the comment Strange, never heard of experienced this on Windows. If you try to access menus via keyboard hotkeys — can you do it?

An error occurred while saving the comment Albin, it feels like a GPU rendering bug.
I suppose you art is semitransparent, right? Can you share the file here, for testing purposes?
Also please try (as a temporary solution) to disable GPU, View > View Using CPU (or uncheck Preferences > Performance > GPU Performance) — does it help to display the artwork correctly? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Greatly support this. In fact Freeform Gradient IS a mesh. but a dynamically generated triangular one. Unfortunately Illustrator knows nothing about this valid PDF construct, that's why you get a 'non-native object' after expanding the fill. We definitely need it live and available for editing with a extended Mesh tool, including full API and scripting support. This is a huge effort though, so probably won't happen until this request gains several hundred votes.

If this happens for you, make sure you have the same color settings setup in both versions (Edit > Color Settings).
An error occurred while saving the comment Chad, can you check Color Settings (Edit > Color Settings) used in both Ai versions? Do they match?
I can’t reproduce that still, same as Lance :(
Must be machine specific. Do you mind having a staff member have a look at your machine directly? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Suchocki, do you, by any chance, have Use Preview Bounds enabled in Preferences General section?
It feels like Illustrator takes your object’s stroke into a consideration.
Please check it, try to disable it if it’s on, and reply back if it gets fixed for you. -

Changing Precision in Pathfinder options helps in most cases, true.
And as the 'Remove Redundant Points options' is sometimes gets reset to the default value. Thanks, Ten, for reminding me of that!
