   I can’t reproduce it, it snaps fine for me and stays with no fractions. Do you have that file with rectangle? Can you share a file that provides this reproducible result, please?

    Meanwhile, there is a paid plugin from AstuteGraphics, Dynamic Shapes, that allows to creates ellipses with an arbitrary number of points. Very handy, but an external solution.

    I like the idea. Setting a key object for Distribute Objects (not Spacing) feels underutilized, and for now is identical to Align. A key could be used here to tell Illustrator to 'distribute from the leftmost to the left edge of THIS object' when is used for Horizontal Distribute Left, for example. Is this what you have in mind? Please share more
