An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Thomas, I am told the team is investigating this.
The main guess is that Ai subsets a wrong character when writing a PDF copy of the file. Perhaps of some inner conflict the auto-generated hyphens Ai displays dynamically get converted into the the ones next to the hyphen in the symbols table — plus signs...
So the investigation is going. Thanks for the persistence! An error occurred while saving the comment Thomas, please send it then to sharewithai@adobe.com, along with the full set of files from this report. An error occurred while saving the comment Very peculiar.
I searched the web for the font and the first link I’ve been given is http://fonts3.com/fonts/i/ITCAvantGardeStd-BkCn.html
The site claims licenses are OK, so I gave it a go (can you compare it with the one you have on your machine? font files differ, even when names match)
Alas, when I opened the .ai file — no plus signs were shown to me. The font got recognized, but proper hyphens got displayed. PDF really shows pluses.
This is all pretty strange. My guess is that some shifting occurs in the code table. Hyphen an plus are neighbors usually... Shared the link with the font team.An error occurred while saving the comment Wow! Never saw anything like this.
Thomas, do you have at least a screenshot of this? or better the document you can share? If you ever get it again, please make a copy of the document, remove everything but this text and share here, along with the font you are using (if you are allowed to). The team will investigate this. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I supposed you tried to restart the machine and checked if you have enough space? Sorry, I just have to ask it.
Speaking of workarounds — this one is considered the best of them: https://en.likefont.com/
If I count how many very unpopular fonts I found with it... That’d be more than a hundred.Speaking of Retype — it searches only within Adobe Fonts library and your local library, that is installed fonts. It can’t work fine with rotated or distorted texts also. It can serve well in some cases, but hardly succeeds with others.

An error occurred while saving the comment Sure it should!
Meanwhile there is a free script you can use to trace all the images in a selection or just in a folder: https://github.com/creold/illustrator-scripts/blob/master/md/Item.md#batchtraceAs the description says, there is a bug in Illustrator that prevents it from correctly applying the color presets, which you can upvote for fixing here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/908050-illustrator-desktop-sdk-scripting-issues/suggestions/46741876-tracing-bugs-in-scripts

An error occurred while saving the comment Are you talking about the Dimension tool?
Or about copying and pasting an object from a normal-seized document to a large-canvas one?
Or are you talking about the view percentage value?
Or all at once? The way the large canvas works is by introducing an internal scaling coefficient. In some cases it glitches out.
Can you explain further, what’s happening, please? -

An error occurred while saving the comment Sarah, what’s the name of the font?
Does your client use the same OS?
Can you share the link to this document with the team? Please send it over to sharewithai@adobe.com

An error occurred while saving the comment I suppose you mean raster images placed or embedded in an Illustrator document, not vector?

An error occurred while saving the comment Interesting. I upvote this.
At the moment there is no way to do it, even with the Width Selector panel from Astute Graphics... nor copying, nor selecting of similar markers. It allows some other cool things though.AdminEgor Chistyakov (Admin, Adobe Illustrator) supported this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment But overprinting a fill (or a stroke) won’t make it into a spot color once separated into channels.
So do you just mean you want Overprint option added to Ai on iPad?An error occurred while saving the comment Hmm. Still hard to grasp — sorry. So what is under, a spot-colored background, or the image?
I suppose the image is below and you have some art above, overprinted... Correct?
Can you please share an image to explain it further? An error occurred while saving the comment I somewhat get an idea behind it... although I’d prefer to hear an extended answer to 'why'.
On the other hand, I can hardly imagine how this would work if I apply Overprint to a thing on top of something else than a flat color. Then it’d be just impossible to convert ALL the colors below (and it can be a blend, a gradient, an image, anything) into spot ones.
Overprint is just not the thing is 'very similar' to spots, it’s an entirely different thing, about ...not making holes in channels.
Sorry, I personally don’t think it’s technically possible. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Vivian, does it seems like the same problem as this already reported one?
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/47543624-transparency-mask-clip-option-does-not-allow-toDoes your mask is applied as clipped one or not?
Does it help if you group the image first, before applying the mask?
Please respond. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry, can’t make it happen...
Can you please share a test file with this circle in it?
If you have a chance to record this on video — it’d help as well. Thank you! -

An error occurred while saving the comment Roberto, can you please share one file, or at least a screenshot of all the settings for a given image?
There were several bugs with transparency recently, now fixed in a Prerelease build, currently in testing.
Here is a report: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/47566373-drop-shadows-appear-lighter-in-v28-1

An error occurred while saving the comment Stephen, does it behave any better in Photoshop?
What do you offer? How do you think it should behave then? Please elaborate, if you have a vision. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I confirm this.
This is the font: https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/hellofont-id-lu-jun-xing-kai
Once installed — Photoshop shows one, Illustrator does not.
Will try to push it further. Thank you for the report. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Are you talking about a linked image or an embedded one?
If you mean the linked images — then there a ways to quickly open in in Photoshop: a button in the Control panel, a menu command in the Links panel’s menu...
If you are talking about the embedded ones — indeed, there is no native way to keep an image embedded and edit it, and there is a request for it: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32166442
If you mean an actual hotkey we can assign to one — well, there is no an exact request for this, but there is a global request to have all the hotkeys for all the buttons and menu commands: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31609237
So what do you mean specifically? Please comment back. -

An error occurred while saving the comment Melanie, I see what you mean. The problem is that a selection of text can have many stylistic sets chosen... so the menu shows options picked, because knowing the chosen sets can be rather crucial, compared to the way font styles are treated in Character, when Ai just displays nothing in the dropdown when a mixed text is selected.
However, it’s a valid request, upvoted.
And no, it’s the first time I recall somebody asked for this. -

An error occurred while saving the comment I’d also like the same option for Circles, rectangles, etc. Perhaps a key I can press while creating these shapes and objects to toggle the behavior.
